IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE MODERN DATING MARKET, YOU’RE PLAYING A LOSING GAME
The rules of dating have changed. What worked for men 20, 30 years ago does NOT work today.
Women have more options than ever, social media has inflated their egos, and if you're still playing by the old script of "being nice" and "treating her like a queen," you're already losing.
All i’ve been saying about ‘cheating and forgiving’
We all do what’s BEST for us in situations like that.
That other Man did what’s best for him by flinging her away.
The Women in question did what’s best for her by staying in the marriage.
Again!
TikTok is truly a wild place 😂
Saw a video where this woman was narrating how her best friend has been sleeping with her husband.
She found out through another friend.
Instead of confronting them, she gathered all the chats and videos and forwarded everything to her friend’s husband with the caption:
“See who you wanted to take to Canada.”
Now the other woman has been sent out of the house and all her travel plans have been cancelled.
The crazy part? Her own husband had already done a DNA test before the drama exploded… and the child is his.
Commenters are dragging her, telling her she should also divorce her husband since she helped destroy the other lady’s marriage. But she said she’s not divorcing, her husband has apologized and she’s staying.
Some weeks ask a little more of you than others.
If this was one of those weeks...
I'm glad you made it through 🤍
Hope this weekend gives you a chance to slow down and recharge.
Happy Friday 💕
I’ve said it time and over again but I will never get tired of reminding you that the average Nigerian man has a strong kink for cuckoldry!!!
Nigerian men do not only know their women’s celebrity crushes’ full Government names, they also invite the same celebrity crush for a wedding ceremony fully funded by them or organize a meet-up with the celebs. And they come in contact with those celebrities with the sole purpose of seeing their wives kneeling down, holdings hand, screaming, robbing her breasts or bumbum on the crush’s body or just allowing their their wives profess love for those celebrities and their crafts.
Nothing Dey sweet Nigerian men pass make them dey in love with or dey worship woman wey no rate them!!!
Nigerian men too mumu!!!
The whole ycee conversation wasn't about Peller but about a systemic degradation of our education.
I would expect everyone arguing, dropping think pieces & setting camera to have picked up on that.
No surprise that the uprisen olodos are proving the point of olodo uprising.
I've not seen it yet but I can bet my left testicle - someone somewhere is tweeting about Ycee's projected networth and how Peller is 20x richer than Ycee so Ycee is jealous.
I am sure.
A culturally bankrupt society whose source of validation comes from asslicking the wealthy.
No Ideological compass. No guiding principle. No strength. Just "I get money pass you".
A congregation of fools, from whence no progress is in sight.
You know why sane societies thrive out here? Because people don't fucking care what you have.
The concept of human dignity exists. Even the poor will stand tall in the face of the wealthy and battle opinion for opinion.
Phones are merely for calls. Cars are merely for transportation. Not status symbols.
Until the day you decentre ranking people and prioritising their opinions based on the depths of their pockets - you will always be bottom feeders.
You need to have balls of steel to drive "intellectual" conversations in today's Nigeria social media space.
As for the congregation of the uprisen olodos, in the conversation of the Olodo uprising - I have decided to share my own think piece.
Your wife must never become so comfortable at disrespecting you that she keeps mentioning her crush in your presence so much that you even memorize the name yourself.
First it was Simi and Adekunle God and now Temi and Eazi.
It is nothing short of embarrassing.
Men by default walk on eggshells around women so as to not hurt their feelings.
Women on the other hand don’t even believe men are humans, they do whatever and say whatever.
We are a country where someone posts something, something that might genuinely be useful, and the first replies are, “Ain’t reading allat,” “Sorry for your loss though,” and every other variation of fashionable stupidity. I find that deeply unsettling because if you cannot read, how do you think? How does your mind travel? How do you sit with an idea long enough for it to change you?
It explains why we have become a people of the now. We want quick money, quick fame, quick answers and quick outrage. We sell our votes because tomorrow demands too much imagination. We pin our hopes on Sporty and/or Fraud because we have convinced ourselves that one lucky ticket/CL will accomplish what years of thought, discipline and labour could not. We want to arrive at the destination without the journey, the reward without the process, the standing ovation without the becoming.
Every society is ultimately a reflection of what it rewards. Ours has gradually rewarded immediacy over thought. That is why dancing videos trend here. That is why obscenity has become the order of the day. There is a thin line between comic relief and stupidity, and I suspect most Nigerians no longer know where one ends and the other begins. Once you are sufficiently outrageous, sufficiently unserious, success is almost guaranteed.
And get this: once a people lose their appetite for thinking, they become remarkably easy to entertain, remarkably easy to deceive and remarkably easy to govern.
I get you, Ycee, but I think the challenge here is expecting pigeons to think like ravens. If we are completely honest, the average Nigerian is not smart; not intellectually curious.
I am not talking about the everyday Nigerian smartness of taking advantage of people or situations, nor the ingenuity that powers Yahoo. I mean the kind of curiosity that allows people to sit with difficult ideas, entertain opposing views and enjoy conversations that demand something of the mind.
Even on X here, the conversations that dominate are often the most airheaded. The moment you point that out, the very people proving your point descend on you for saying it aloud. That, to me, is the real problem.
A society is ultimately shaped by what it rewards. If our loudest applause is reserved for the shallow, then the shallow will keep multiplying. Until we become a people who are curious to know rather than eager to show, there will always be a pipeline for a million more Pellers.
Someone, somewhere, will read this and say, “And so? How does it change anything? Abegiii,” and people will support them. This is exactly what we are talking about. The moment a society begins to treat the very things that place a nation on the path to greatness with a casual I don’t care attitude, decline becomes inevitable. If we get to the point where Mathematics Olympiads no longer interest us and the government, having chiefly contributed to that indifference, continues to reward it with its rabid mediocrity, we will only become worse than we already are.
