@pkwestel I clearly remember the time when Ole’s United team went behind a goal several times, and then used the 2nd half to come back and win. Lots of similarities there.
A few thoughts after Carrick’s two matches:
- The starting XI is the most technical United team. Dalot is the only exception, but Maz was at AfCon so there was no other choice at RB.
- Players are well-coached. Passing is fast and often one-touch/rondo style, with players deciding the pass before they get the ball.
- Football is possession-heavy, attack-first with preference to vertical passing, and forward runs.
- Long balls are controlled with a view of retaining the ball possession, rather than simply clearing it.
- Defensive set-up is high quality with experienced defenders Maguire/Licha/Shaw preferred to Yoro/Heaven.
Early signs are very positive. With 1-game per week schedule, the players can remain fresh and play with high-intensity. The coaching team is prioritizing shorter training sessions which are more intense. All good signs. GGMU.
@JonathanShrager Precedent set by Ole appointment was … finishing 3rd and 2nd in successive seasons as full-time manager. If anything, the board should follow that precedent.
@pkwestel@m1k3sowavy@slouchpundit These are problems that no interim manager can fix right now. If you’re going to hire someone, might as well hire Ole who’s a club legend, has managed United before, and has backing of majority of fans to manage till summer.
@AmorimEra So Wilcox has asked Amorim to change formation as players suited to 3-4-3 won’t be funded.
And the club is leaking to media that Vivell was not happy with how Fulham easily exploited Amorim’s predictable tactics in the 1-1 draw.
New manager soon ?
@Utdtruthful This attitude of wanting to “protect” himself, not watching his own team take penalties, United trying to protect a 1-goal lead rather than going for 2nd. Come on man, this is not a United manager
@BhushanManmath McGrath was such an underrated bowler. He was one of the best in the world. He almost got Lara out. The Aus captain just had to trust him to bowl a good-length out-swinging delivery that could carry to the 2nd slip.
@wholemars My FSD asks me to “apply slight turning force to the steering wheel” every time I use it. Even for driving two blocks away to a grocery store. But apparently some people can travel to the moon and back with FSD “without touching the steering wheel”. Am I doing something wrong?
@JakeKarll@wholemars It’s a very short 5 min drive. I look forward except when turning. I have the cabin camera. I’m usually looking at the road when this message pops up. Sometimes I look at the screen to change music but fsd should be resilient to that?
