As a university professor, I’ve turned down every single interview I’ve been offered. This guy’s life was normal, then… the media started to interview him for being the 1st black CU professor. Before you know it, a full blown witch-hunt! Then boom, his life is over! Be CAREFUL!
That man was accused of one thing only and he was also cleared of this same issue. His paper was reviewed and it was termed a genuine mistake.
Next time bring your evidence of fraud over here before you label people frauds aimlessly.
About the recent development on Jason Arday, I don’t want to seem insensitive, but the truth has to be said.
Was he a fraud? Sadly, yes.
Did he deserve to die? No.
Is his death anyone’s fault? No.
So, you can’t really expect people to carry the weight of his suicide. It’s…
To those saying the Jason Arday coverage wasn't racist...compare and contrast the coverage when a white Cambridge professor was found to have plagiarised. If you google this there's about 5 stories about it, one in the local student newspaper, and it blew over in a few days.
I don’t think Harry gets enough credit for leaving with his wife - for many in the British Press the only acceptable outcome would have been divorce or death.
Cambridge is going to do exactly what it did to me 3 years ago - use that supercilious, infuriatingly passive-aggressive British silence to distance itself from a public ritual lynching that it enabled and helped along.
Jason Arday was CLEARED of the plagiarism allegations by the way. His dissertation was reviewed by LJMU and he was found to have misattributed A SINGLE SENTENCE out of 146,000 words - misattributed, not copied! Meaning he actually credited that sentence to a source, but it was a secondary source instead of its primary source.
A disgruntled racist with an agenda seized on that ONE SENTENCE of wrongly attributed text in a 401-page dissertation and the entire uk academic community and media jumped on it, just like they did with Onyeka and I in 2023.
And what Cambridge did back then instead of backing me against the silly allegation of "misogynistic comments at my book launch" - comments that are still yet to be identified 3 years later - was to write me a letter telling me to stay away from the campus and "use my affiliation sparingly."
It was precisely because of this stupid letter that I put "2023 James Currey Fellow, @Cambridge_Uni" on my bio. I'm doing the exact opposite of what they wanted, and I dare them to come out and say anything about it.
I'm willing to bet that was exactly what they did to Jason, and that was probably why he resigned. I'll even wager that just as the slimy Dr Bronwen Everill was in my DMs during that episode pretending not to know what was going on and acting like she was helping me, there was probably someone from his faculty silently managing him and convincing him to stay quiet as he got ritually lynched, because that's how Cambridge behaves.
My lesson from this episode was that whether on a construction site in Wigan or in a faculty office at Cambridge, british racist lynch mobs all behave the exact same way, and you should never cave in to them and give them what they want (the satisfaction of your self immolation), or bother negotiating with terrorists like them.
Maybe it's because of their failed attempt with me that they shifted their attack towards a vulnerable autistic black man. They couldn't win against someone who could fight back so they selected a weaker, easier target. Which again is very typical british behaviour.
I'd sooner respect an Israeli Zionist settler before a fucking brit. An entire island full of the worst form of degenerate coward you have ever come across.
