My toddler has been saying "oh dear" constantly in a British accent. We're American. We don't watch British shows. No idea where this came from. It's been three weeks. "Oh dear" when she drops something. "Oh dear" when the dog barks. Very concerned "oh dear" when my husband burned toast. Asked her teacher if they're watching Peppa Pig at daycare. Teacher said no, but she's noticed it too. It's spreading. Four other kids are now saying "oh dear" in British accents. The teacher is baffled. Parents are comparing notes. Someone suggested mass hysteria. Then we found out the elderly crossing guard has been saying "oh dear, careful now" to the kids every morning. She's from Wisconsin. She just has an affect. Fifteen toddlers have developed fake British accents from a crossing guard who isn't British.
This is Dammy (Damilola) Feyide. She was in her 20s when she returned from the UK to Nigeria in 2017, ready to complete her NYSC and likely head back abroad. But today, the story is completely different.
What started as a one-year service term became a lifelong mission. One afternoon, a nudge from the Holy Spirit caused her to stop her car at a correctional center. She didn't see "criminals" or "street kids"; she saw a reflection of Jesus’ heart. She saw children with doctor-sized dreams living in paint-starved realities.
She started by giving money to children on the street and going to the correctional facility with gifts, but the Holy Spirit kept convincing her that there was more. That conviction led to the birth of Let It Shine Academy (LISA), a FREE boarding school for secondary school students in Lagos, Nigeria.
About 270 students are enrolled in her school. No tuition fee, no hostel fee, no feeding fee, no uniform fee, no textbook fee, everything is provided for free. A standard private secondary school for free in Lagos.
In a society where many children are pushed to the margins because of poverty, instability, family background, or lack of access, she chose to create a place where children can still dream, learn, grow, eat, create, think, and become who God wants them to be.
Today, LISA is a beacon of high-quality, completely free education. While the foundation is built on Christ’s love, the school is filled with children of all religions.
As I shared with my sisters Grow Her Faith Fellowship last week, faith isn’t a wall to keep people out; it’s a bridge that invites everyone in. When we serve, we don’t ask for a creed; we look for a need.
We often ask ourselves, "What is the meaning of life?" The answer isn't found in the degrees we earn or the titles we hold. The whole essence of man is to live for impact. We are stewards, not owners, of the grace we've been given. If your life doesn't leak hope into someone else’s darkness, are you truly living?
Impact isn't about having it all figured out. Dammy didn't have a background in education; she just had a "Yes" and a God who backs those He sends.
I love women who live beyond applause, who are not just building names, but building lives. Women who are not waiting for perfect conditions before they begin, women who understand that purpose is not always glamorous.
Dammy’s work reminds me again that impact is not about how many people know your name. It is about how many lives breathe better because you obeyed what was placed in your heart.
Education is one of the purest forms of impact. When you educate a child, you change their language, their exposure, their confidence, their options, their family story, and sometimes, the direction of an entire generation.
That is why I will always be drawn to people who build in this space, because clarity helps people see, education helps people rise, and impact helps people live better.
Dammy carries all three with conviction. I believe she deserves to be celebrated.
Today, I celebrate Damilola “Dammy” Feyide, for choosing to be a bridge between disadvantage and dignity, between “someone should do something” and “I will start where I am.”
May we never become so busy chasing visibility that we forget the beauty of living for impact, and may more women rise with the courage to build what they wish existed.
Let this be your stir to action: Stop waiting for the perfect timing or the full bank account. Go where the burden is, go where the heart breaks. Just as Dammy shows us, you won't know how deep the well of Grace is until you start pouring it out for others.
Dear Dammy, keep living purposefully and intentionally; the heavens are documenting your impact.

My dad discovered voice notes last year and has fully replaced phone calls with them, He just sends long, unedited, stream of consciousness voice notes sent at random hours. I receive them like dispatches from another world.
Voice note received 6:47am
Dad: (sound of kettle in background)
Good morning. I was thinking about you. I saw something on the television last night about young people and stress and I wanted to check on you. Are you eating. I hope you're eating. Your mother made stew yesterday it was very good. I told her to send you some but she said you live far. I said that's what couriers are for. She said I don't know how to use the courier app. I told her I would do it. I haven't done it yet but I will. Anyway. Call me when you wake up. Or send a voice note. Your mother says you never call. I told her you're busy. Are you busy? Don't be too busy. Okay. Have a good day. Eat something. Bye. (paus It's dad by the way.
Me: (listens to entire two minute voice note)
Me: (it is 6:47am)
Me: (sends voice note back)
Me: Dad I know it's you. You're the only one who sends voice notes this long. I'm eating. Tell mum I'll call this weekend. Also you don't need to say bye and then keep talking and then say bye again.
Voice note received 6:51am
Dad: (laughing) Okay okay. Bye.
Me: (smiling at phone at 6:51am)
Me: (this is actually the best start to a morning)
Over the weekend I saw a movie, WHEN LOVE PRAYS out of FOMO. I had read lots of reviews and thought to just check it out.
I won't lie to you, it's a nice movie. Every actor delivered on their roles. But as the movie drew to a close, especially at the hospital scene, I had to look beyond to entertainment to question the obvious message being passed.
You know, the entertainment industry has a strong potentials at shaping culture and human reasoning. So in this movie, an Imam's son falls in love with a Pastor's daughter. The both get married without their parents' consent.
But somehow love wins over their faith and both families are united and there is a cold message that Christians and Muslims can actually be united in marriage, we all serve the same God.
Husband will wake up in the morning and run his prayers in the parlour. Wife will be in the room speaking in tongues. Wife sometimes follows husband to the mosque and it's of no record that wife went to church.
Muslim mother in law is so sweet, she love peace. But Christian mother doesn't seem to be having it. But their daughter is willing to fight for love.
Baby would bear Emmanuel and Abdulrahaman. The child would have to what now, choose who he would serve or serve both simultaneously?
Like that's not enough. Toyin Abraham announced the release of her latest movie, Love Between Altars, on good Friday with the caption "We serve the same God". She didn't do that during the Ramadan. But it pleases her to announce the arrival of her agenda on good Friday. To tell us that it is good that two Altars meet as long as it's God we are mentioning.
If you don't see it, I see it. This is how things creep into The Body, subtly. This is the exact approach used when sex scenes becaene normal in nollywood. It started with under sheets till there was no need to hide.
This is how LGBTQ crept into Hollywood movies. They first make you love the character so much and then they introduce a side of him that you just have to accept because, he's a good guy and has a good heart. Ain't nothing wrong with him having same sex attraction.
That is how cohabitation became a normal in relationships.
You see a movie, a movie of two Christians, without being married the lady moves into the man's house, share his bed and they are doing things. It sounds good. It looks like getting to know each other. And then the marriage works and you say, "That's how it should be."
OR the relationship fails and you say, "That's why it's good to cohabit. You see things..."
This is what is playing out with these movies. Young men in church are watching. Young ladies in church are watching. Our children are watching. They are seeing how it is okay to fall in love and marry someone who is not a Christian. It happened for Sis X in that movie, it can happen to them.
IT IS NOT NORMAL!
IT IS NOT CUTE!
IT IS NOT BIBLICAL!
"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" 2 Cor 6:14
This is a biblical command advising believers against forming binding partnerships—especially marriage or close business alliances—with unbelievers, as their fundamental values, goals, and spiritual directions are incompatible
We are heading opposite directions. See, Abraham when it was time to find a wife for Isaac,he made Eliezer swear that he'd not bring a wife from from Canaanites. He was intentional. He understood what being unequally yoked with someone outside the covenant of God can imply.
Amos 3:3 says, can two work together except they be in agreement?
We must agree that love is not all that sustains a marriage. Love can sustain friendships, businesses...but marriage? No!
Love the movie. Celebrate the craft. But please don't buy the message. You should not marry a Muslim as a Christian. You should not. It's not a red flag, it's a full stop.
Christian women, stop marrying Muslim men‼️
Stop it! Their aim is to convert you and your children to Islam.
Read your Bible and get to know God. Stop being deceived by the lie that “we worship the same God” no, we don’t and never will. 👎
You hardly ever see a Muslim girl marry a Christian. Those people don’t joke with their faith; no matter how much they love you, they will never leave their religion for you.
Read the Bible.
Get to know God.
Stand firm in your belief.
Build a relationship with God.
Love God.
And raise godly Children for Jesus.
Nigeria has a drug problem
Yes, A hard drug problem. Used to be that Nigeria was a transit route for South American cocaine, now the local usage is up
It's a productivity killer
#notodrugs
Because you were denied VISA, you squeezed your face like amoeba and said God is not faithful.
Is it your country?
Don't you have your own country?
Abi God that created you here before, you think he doesn't have sense or he doesn't know what he is doing?
See your eye.🌚
I graduated from the University with a first class, and my Dad is to blame.
During my university days, my Dad would call me every day.
I mean, every day between 5 and 6am.
He is ruthless.
When he calls, you'd better not sound sleepy.
He will say something like: Don’t sleep away your greatness😩
He will ask me about my CGPA every day.
He will say: ‘You too can make a first class’
He will say: ‘That test you did last week, is the result out now’.
He gave me serious close marking.
He will come to school unannounced, and if I am in class, he will sit under a tree and wait for me to finish.

‘I am teary now’ - jeeeeez
I did not have any margin to fumble.
For 4 years! He was consistent.
And I remembered so vividly the day I told him my final results were out and that I would be graduating with a first class. He hugged me so tight, like I was his completed project.
He wore his best agbada to my graduation. Hahaha.
Don’t joke with declarations:
My hands are anointed
My husband is blessed on every side
My children know God for real, the devil doesn’t snatch my seed
My home is peaceful
I have a covenant of prosperity
Nothing missing, nothing broken
Amen!
I can never recommend the way I got married to someone else
I never saw this man face to face until he was coming to pay my bride price.
We knew each other for 6 months only talked seriously like 2 months out of that time.
And this man used speed to fly down to ask my parents for my hand
I can’t recommend it for anyone. Not even my siblings. Because humanly speaking that Time frame is too short.
Because what are the odds that the man you stumbled on on instagram Is the man you’ve prayed for all your life?
But it worked for us. We both knew and believed so much in our hearts that this was God bringing us together. And we’ve never had cause to regret.
This post is not about marriage per se but I need you to stay with me
I looked at the Bible closely and I saw that if Moses has used David’s stone it wouldn’t have worked
And there was no way Moses’s rod would have helped David kill Goliath
Infact do you remember Brother Samson? He only used the jaw bone of an ass once and threw it away.
If it were you and I today, after the kind of victory that the jawbone gave him, we would have put it inside our bag and protected it with our lives because you’ll think that’s where the victory lies.
But it wasn’t about the stone or the rod or the jawbone.
It was about God present with them
It was about God giving them victory.
And as long as God was there, that victory would continue
I’m sharing all these because as believers we are quick to look at others to copy what they are doing
When someone is experiencing victory we want to copy their prayer point word for word.
If a sister tells you that she found her husband when she was singing in the choir, the next Sunday you want to register in the choir unit when God specifically told you that you should be in the prayer band.
Because we don’t see the God behind the strategy. We think the victory is in the strategy.
If it’s not God that commanded you to use that rod, it will just be an ordinary stick.
Please read with understanding.
Selah.
A good time to make this spread and trend again…….
Let’s go !
Jesus just has to be who He says He is. No one gives this joy that He gives.
We celebrate our king, JESUS !
A few days ago my husband and I had a very important meeting in very big building.
When we got there, we were pressed for time so we were rushing. But as we entered, we were not sure where to go because like I said this was a very large complex.
My husband saw one “oyibo” and asked the guy what elevator we should take and told him the name of the office we were looking for.
The nice guy said “take this elevator and go to the 3rd floor”. Then he said “when you come out of the elevator, go left immediately”.
We thanked him and left.
Whe we got off the elevator, we just turned left immediately just like the bros told us. But as we were turning, we looked up and saw the name of the office we were going to. And a sign beside the name said “go right”.
But the bros told us “Go left”
But now a sign placed by the people themselves said “Go right”
And that’s what we did. We went right. And it took us straight to their office.
The Holyspirit dropped something instantly in my heart that I have been meditating on since that day.
Take this as a sequel from my last post because I think it drives the point home even further.
This is what happens in Christendom.
We have leaders and people that want to direct us and show us the way. Many of them are good people and want to sincerely help you just like that bros was trying to give us directions.
He even went out of his way to give us more info than we asked.
But for some weird reasons which I think is just human mistake, he said left instead of right.
And he said it with so much confidence. We had no reason to doubt him.
Now imagine that me and my husband were blind?
Or imagine that we could not read signs and directions?
We would have gone left. And maybe missed and missed our way and lost precious time.
But because we could read, we knew immediately that that guy made an innocent mistake.
And this is what happens sometimes with leaders and mentors. They make honest mistakes sometimes.
They have a good heart to lead and direct you but they can be flawed. This is why it’s important that you can read signs for yourself
The Bible is the ultimate sign and direction map. Even if people make mistakes, it was inspired by the Holyspirit who is God himself. There no mistake or flaws in it.
So while you ask men for directions, make sure you can read by yourself.
Don’t follow blindly.
So you are not lost.
Blessings!
