No. 2: First midnight visit and staying until morning. Seeing nothing but the glowing volcano and a big maze of running lava in pitch black. Then slowly seeing the whole area appear as sun came up.

Running towards towards the ocean. That would probably have been my third peak experience of the whole eruption, if that had happened. See below for the first two. #iceland
