@Christophe74732 @katewillett Listen, I’m just reading the statement you wrote. Cops don’t have to know the law to the level of lawyers or SCOTUS. Cops are allowed a “reasonable” misunderstanding of the law which is a squishy term legally. And cops have qualified immunity!

You (incorrectly) stated cops have to know the law and implied they need to know the law better than the SCOTUS which isn’t true

@dylanpayneplus @taste_of_tbone wish this were true, but higher profit does not equal higher wages. In fact, the Supreme Court upheld shareholder supremacy in Dodge vs Ford motor Co (1919) which determined companies must operate in the interest of its shareholders, not their workers and customers

@Christophe74732 @katewillett You are incorrect. Police officers are NOT legally required to know the law and are shielded from civil liability for enforcing a law they misinterpreted. 2014 Supreme Court case Heien v. North Carolina reinforced that police don’t have to know the law.

Also, student group meetings generally don’t require a lot, if any funding. Some universities have funds for student groups, but those funds usually come from activity fees or something, not grants.
