The end of an era for one of Whitby's most iconic landmarks.

The whale bone arch, a gift from Whitby's twin town, Barrow, Alaska has watched over the town for generations.

Years of exposure to the elements have finally taken their toll, and its time as a symbol of Whitby is coming to a close.

But it won't be forgotten. A bronze replica is set to take its place early next year, carrying the legacy forward for the next generation of residents and visitors 🐋
