We were thrilled to be invited along to witness this special moment. The last time beavers were in a Three Bay’s river was perhaps 500+ years ago.

In bang-average weather we held our fifth annual New Year Plant Hunt today in Mevagissey. 10 intrepid walkers counted 78 species, including Common Whitlowgrass, Betony, Jersey Cudweed, and a Garden Pansy in an arable field.

Stoat in a winter coat ❄️

Chris Bilkey sent us these lovely photos of a Stoat in partial ermine, taken at the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The ermine, or winter coat, isn’t a common occurrence in Cornwall although it has been observed a few times.

Three Bays Wildlife Group around Mevagissey found around 80 species of flowering plants. One highlight was this brightly coloured hybrid Pansy in an arable field.
