Shortly before the Winter Games, I drove down a North Van street and there were 4 houses flying Canadian flags that weren't there earlier. "Holy s!!t, this could be REALLY BIG." I also attended the 2006 WC in GER and there is NO COMPARISON. Be patient, grasshopper.

@bobmackin @DouglasTodd Wow, yeah I did a buncha advertorials for the SUN on that area. The real estate agent I recall talking to was the wife of the former mayor of West Vancouver. IIRC, the reason why the houses are big is that they're actually duplexes and triplxes and they were nosebleed priced
