By 2028, KKM targets to offer permanent posts to ALL housemen immediately upon completing their training. A true 'whole-of-government' approach at work!

📍 The Inter-Ministerial Joint Task Force (IMJTF) is officially yielding results in tackling our perennial HR issues, through the ongoing reform agenda.

📍 We hear your concerns and we are actively closing the gaps. This year alone, 4,500 contract MOs will be absorbed into permanent roles, alongside 800 new positions approved annually.

📍 For the record, there is NO recruitment freeze (even with the OE budget realignment). We are on track to fill >18,000 vacancies across all our service schemes in 2026!

While we push for better working conditions to combat burnout, replacing our medical specialists remains a complex, long-term hurdle.

​📍 Therefore, I have tasked the new DDG (Medical) to strictly focus on overhauling and resolving issues surrounding the production of our local medical specialists.
​
📍 Whether it involves local Master's programmes or the Parallel Pathway, we must secure a sustainable, world-class training ecosystem for our healthcare professionals.

🚨 RESETTING PRIVATE HEALTHCARE via truly ‘A WHOLE OF NATION APPROACH’:
Making It Affordable & Transparent for All Malaysians!

Rising private healthcare costs require decisive structural reforms.

Today, I co-chaired the 4th JBMKKS meeting with MKII @DSAmirHamzah, as we advance the RESET strategy to ensure private healthcare remains affordable, accessible, transparent & sustainable to the Rakyat. 🇲🇾 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🩺

📍 The new Base MHIT Plan will be called MediAsas. The pilot will run from July-Oct 2026 in the Klang Valley with 6 ITOs & selected hospitals to ensure operational readiness ahead of the nationwide rollout in Jan 2027.

📍 To combat medical inflation, we are demanding ‘billing transparency’ (a common framework by Aug 2026) & the ‘phased rollout of the DRG system’ in private hospitals to drive true ‘value-based care’.

📍 On the digital front, we are building the National EMR interoperability between the private and public healthcare sector via the Malaysia Digital Health Certification Network (MDHCN) under the "One Person,
One Record" principle.

📍 Simultaneously, we are improving and modernising private healthcare facility licensing - end-to-end - under Act 586.

We are fixing the ecosystem to ensure that equitable, dignified healthcare is not a luxury, but a reality for all Malaysians.

Naratif KKM jelas: kita mahu memperkasakan potensi mereka untuk berdikari dalam masyarakat akhirnya! 🤲

​Fokus & hala tuju strategik kita:

​📍 Sinergi Fasiliti Bertaraf Dunia PERKESO: KKM meneroka kerjasama dengan Pusat Rehabilitasi PERKESO yang menawarkan world-class facility and treatment seperti "Walk Again" serta diiktiraf sebagai Centre of Excellence Neuro-Robotik & Sibernik.

📍 Pasukan khas sedang memperhalusi kaedah pembayaran, indemniti, pandangan PUU KESUMA, serta kebolehlaksanaan Hospital Services Outsourcing Programme (HSOP) demi manfaat kepada lebih ramai Rakyat Malaysia.

​📍 Tumpuan Mild CP: Menyambut baik pandangan YB Kuala Langat. Dianggarkan 50% pesakit CP mempunyai fungsi kognitif normal. Mereka berpotensi besar untuk cemerlang dalam pendidikan, kerjaya, dan membina keluarga jika diberi sokongan yang betul.

​📍 Pendekatan Whole-of-Nation: KKM fokus pada saringan, intervensi, & bantuan alat rehabilitasi melalui TBP & TKPM. Namun, akses pendidikan inklusif & kerjaya memerlukan komitmen rentas agensi seperti JKM, kementerian berkaitan, dan NGO.

​📍 Intervensi Awal: Rekod KKM (2016-2025) menunjukkan 1,076 kes CP didaftarkan dan menerima intervensi awal di klinik kesihatan seluruh negara. Kita mahu pastikan tiada seorang pun yang tercicir daripada mengecap masa depan berkualiti.

​Every child deserves a future! 🌹Setiap anak CP mempunyai ruang dan potensi untuk menyumbang kepada negara. Mari bersama bina ekosistem yang inklusif untuk mereka!

I welcome the comprehensive bipartisan PAC report on the escalation of private medical insurance premiums and private hospital charges.

The findings lay bare the stark structural anomalies within the healthcare system that I inherited.

Without transformation, this will affect our Rakyat directly, including those who do not use private service due to the “Domino Effect” on the public sector.

Thank you for the wholehearted bipartisan endorsement of the whole-of-nation RESET strategy, which is being implemented rapidly under the auspices of JBMKKS.

I am truly grateful for the many partners - including government agencies and ministries together with private sector stakeholders- who are currently working together on this:

📍 The national launch of the base MHIT plan is planned for January 2027.
📍 Phased implementation of the Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs).
📍Interoperable Electronic Medical Records - 1Citizen 1Record (finally for both PUBLIC-PRIVATE).

This private sector transformation is just part of the broader reforms which include DIGITILISATION with the public healthcare system and HUMAN RESOURCE REFORM.

Ketika menjawab pertanyaan lisan YB Kapar di Dewan Rakyat semalam, saya tegaskan penjagaan kesihatan primer (PHC) adalah “tulang belakang” sistem penjagaan kesihatan kita, sementara jagaan sekunder & tertiari di fasiliti hospital2 di seluruh Negara. (Sila rujuk Infografik utk Visi KKM).

KKM akan terus memperkukuhkan penjagaan primer atau PHC yang dekat dengan komuniti dan bergandingan bersama Pengamal Perubatan Am Swasta.

Antara langkah2 strategik mendepani realiti semasa kesihatan negara:

📍Integrasi Awam-Swasta: Meningkatkan dan mematangkan program PEKA B40 (saringan NCD) kepada pengurusan NCD

📍Hampir 2 juta juta individu telah disaring sejak 2019 di bawah program NHSI.

📍Kadar individu yang tidak mengetahui status penyakit turun mendadak - untuk kolesterol tinggi (dari 25% ke 18%), untuk kencing manis (dari 9% ke 6%).

📍Penglibatan sektor swasta akan terus diperhebat menerusi inisiatif penyumberluaran perkhidmatan (HSOP) dalam RMK-13 (Pengurusan Rawatan NCDs) demi rawatan awal yang pantas (perkukuh KK) sekaligus mengurangkan kesesakan hospital kerajaan.

Ayuh rakyat Malaysia ke fasiliti kesihatan berdekatan, lakukan saringan & terus kekalkan kesihatan ANDA hari ini!!

Obesiti boleh menyumbang kepada kematian pramatang (premature death) semasa dewasa disebabkan penyakit-penyakit tidak berjangkit berkaitan obesiti seperti diabetes, hipertensi, hiperkolesterolemia dan penyakit kardiovaskular.

Obesiti kanak-kanak ini boleh diatasi bermula dari keluarga di rumah. Wujudkan persekitaran yang sihat dan berikan pemakanan yang terbaik untuk anak-anak bagi mengelakkan faktor obesogenik.
