@burkov Yup, exactly, this completely handicaps the type of start ups they say they want to see flourish. Either sell the tokens at a reasonable price or don’t subsidize their own app’s tokens to the point of creating unrealistic expectations

Hi, can anyone from Codex help me understand the “exec” usage better? I don’t use non-interactive mode but still see a large portion of my usage labeled as exec. I see up to 10% of my Pro usage going to “exec” even on days I’m not using Codex at all.

I read the docs, contacted OpenAI support, added a GitHub issue and on the developer form. But no luck yet.

@thsottiaux Quick question, Does Codex use the "Exec" feature by default, or could Exec usage be something else like a plug-in or 3rd party service? I notice my Pro usage drain very fast and I now see heavy "Exec" usage 🙏

Actually I think this is serious issue. I just bought additional credits and can confirm my usage is draining without using it and without codex showing any usage in the settings. I followed the docs, logged out of all accounts, but still see phantom Usage. Help!

@trq212 Hi, my CC max plan ran out of usage too fast for a few days, I saved the full conversation on two different occasions and the exact amount that it used. in one instance two messages used up 40% of the usage. I suspect it was the 1 million context update

@claudeai @trq212 @borisfx I am noticing higher than normal usage rates on my Max account. Just 14 Claude in Chrome[computer] actions used up 19% of my usage. I was at 19%, now 38% after just 14 actions. Just flagging this, hope it's a bug, thanks

@claudeai Claude has been making some really interesting glitch art for me in the terminal, which might sound like I'm casting shade but I'm not. It goes away pretty quickly and it's actually genuinely cool to see although I'm sure the developers will be working to fix it

I have been using the default Apple one for ages and was stoked to see you using it in an early talk I saw you give.

But it drives me crazy when the text pushes the terminal off screen. Would LOVE to see a STT option 🙏

@OpenAI @thsottiaux @embirico Codex has gone from my most trusted coding tool to my least with Codex 5.3.
- It has reverted files many time without me knowing
- It goes way off course changing things I didn't ask for
- It makes branches and switches to them without permission
- I've now added 45 new lines of "do NOT.." in AGENTS md
- It makes the same changes over and over again
- it goes in circles for hours even on Spark mode
- And sooo many more
I'm rooting for your team, I want to help and hope you figure out the issues

I found an interesting Claude Code bug. I see "/rate-limit-options" being injected into sessions at random times, even Claude seems puzzled by it. By this example he ignores it but he was confused at first. Also it does clear the text input, which can be a bummer, thanks
