7/ I used to keep this opinion to myself, but now that AI has reached semi-autonomous development, it's undeniable. If you’re still obsessing over "DRY" and forcing abstractions, you’re just confusing the AI and wasting your boss’s money. 💸
6/ By keeping code local and repetitive instead of shared and abstract, you maintain Super Elasticity. You can pivot any part of the logic without breaking the whole system. In 2026, this trade-off is a massive win.
5/ Then comes the classic: "But then I have to change it in multiple places!" Please. It’s not hundreds of places, and more importantly—YOU aren’t changing it; the AI is.
4/ People argue: "But I need that package's functionality!" In the era of AI, do you really? 99% of those "essential" features can be generated as clean, local code. You don't need the bloat of a dependency just to avoid writing a few lines.
3/ Even worse? People doing "abstractions of abstractions." It’s a total disaster. The most common sin is wrapping a third-party package in another layer of encapsulation. I still don't get why everyone does this. It's overhead for the sake of overhead.
2/ Every piece of shared code is a point of infinite entropy. The moment you abstract logic to "save time," you’ve created a trap. When one specific use case needs a tiny change, the complexity of your shared abstraction skyrockets because you start hacking in "exceptions."

Got gout <30. Reading menus sucks.
Built GoutScan: Snap a menu, see gout risks.
I wasted a week over-optimizing (10+ models/OCR). Learned the hard way: Launch for validation, don't hide for perfection.
It's slow (30s), but it works.
