@ericglas123@austrosillyism insurance and hospitals have agreements where insurance pays way less than the bill you receive
but insurance sets it's price based on hospital bills
meaning price increase in medicine actually benefit it, since it can increase its rate based on bill, while expenses increase less
@ericglas123@austrosillyism "how insurance works."
yeah, this is the problem
how insurance works to squeeze every last drop of people
and competition can't enter because of agreement with hospitals, where big insurance companies pay less than the actual bill
@ericglas123@austrosillyism "government regulations" didn't make Turing pharmaceuticals raise price Daraprim from 13.5$ to 750$ after buying the patent
@ericglas123@austrosillyism "US healthcare costs are in a large part influenced by how US government regulates it" nonsense
US healthcare costs are corporate greed, plain and pure
everywhere else the government regulates healthcare much more, and it costs way less
@emptib666@MinModulation pathetic
i expected nothing more though
me pointing out how you're wrong isn't being a "bad faith actor"
you're just delusional
@emptib666@MinModulation the dollar is the global reserve currency, it collapsing would affect everyone
there won't be foreigner with a stronger currency abusing the situation, loans won't have their relative value skyrocket
@emptib666@MinModulation sometimes people's idiocy amazes me
Zimbabwe currency collapse affects people holding it's currency only, outsiders with dollars could abuse the situation
the loans in dollars still needed to be paid, and the wealthy needed to sell for cheap
@emptib666@MinModulation that's how inflation works......................
loss of value on the dollar doesn't affect other assets this is why people who own houses, lands, and shares have been getting relatively wealthier for the past 100 years
@ericglas123@austrosillyism ..............................................................................
except you know.....
when there are no alternative
aka oligopolies
which formed in most industries
which alternative can you find to not overpay for healthcare in america?
@_Tacticute@nwet45@austrosillyism that's wrong
the patent for insulin itself was even sold a university for 1$ upon discovery in an attempt to prevent abuse
the patents are for stuff like pens and processesthe companies engage in a lot of litigation as well
but biggest barrier is manufacturing setup costs
@WetSpaghett@austrosillyism an idea that someone worked to produce is his own, copying him without compensation is the same as refusing to compensate any other form of labor
@WetSpaghett@austrosillyism said every idiot who has no argument......
rights infringement isn't just about depriving someone of physical property
if you don't pay your lawyer that's theft, even though he didn't give you anything physical
same if factory doesn't pay worker
@emptib666@MinModulation no this doesn't back you up
most wealth isn't money, it's land rights, patents, and company shares
and in this future, robot ownership/data centers running those robots
money losing value will make the ruling class owning these much more wealthy
@emptib666@MinModulation "tHHy cNNST mSKMK PPTFUS" yeah they are in deep need of the paper you hold
once labor is no longer needed, money will loss value
@austrosillyism@nightwing0530@Chungeoisie "Patent abuse to stop generics is a thing." it's not really a thing
ffs, how do you people spout such bullcrap, they did some insane levels of litigation, but the main detractor was always the manufacturing process for insulin which is insanely expensive to set up
@WetSpaghett@nwet45@austrosillyism "If anyone with enough money could legally make insulin" if anyone can go and live in uninhabited homes, housing would plummet"
@WetSpaghett@nwet45@austrosillyism "competition is not allowed" copying is not allowed
you aren't allowed to use someone else's idea
same way you aren't allowed to use someone else's factory to create your own products
@WetSpaghett@austrosillyism "I cannot deprive you of your idea by using it myself."
if i take break into someone's vacation house and use it while he is away i don't deprive him of the house, it's still an infringement on his private property
@WetSpaghett@austrosillyism what a ridiculous statement
"Ideas are not private property. They exist purely in your head " to say they exist purely in my head, then say it's not private property is just ridiculous
are they on vacation?
