@BrettErickson28@nahaltoosi Yep. And I checked and it turns out that money is fungible so anything we give them for humanitarian (whatever) is still giving them cash. Which is hilarious, and the only way out of this
@Bradvantagious@Amena__Bakr I don't blame any president for oil prices. They're influenced by world markets. UNLESS a president did something stupid to create a supply shock like this pointless war.
Biden SUCKS. But 2022 inflation was because Trump spent $6T on pandemic relief AND the COVID supply shock
@Bradvantagious@Amena__Bakr Interest rates are based on inflation expectations. The idea is this: why would you lend money at 5% if money is going down in value by 4% or more every year. What drives inflation? Two things: overheated consumption (hot GDP) and supply shocks (largest energy shock ever)
@Bradvantagious@Amena__Bakr Ok now I feel bad, Ngl. You just don't understand stuff. I said that 5 year oil futures (basically comodizied bets on what oil will cost in 5 years) are low, unlike near-term futures. If the market is betting that oil goes way down in 5 years, no one will drill/create jobs
@Bradvantagious@Amena__Bakr Lol so you're saying that an enormous jump in GDP - on the heals of an energy shock - is going to bring interest rates down?
@Bradvantagious@Amena__Bakr Oh and not to harp, but five year oil futures are still low as hell. None of this will increase investment and create jobs. Long run, oil is crashing.
@Bradvantagious@Amena__Bakr Also? You're a moron. Iran has a TON of oil on the water. Once Trump folds and pays them off, they'll make way more than they ever would thanks to the price spike
@JarrettBoswell@Bushra1Shaikh Iran is now ruled by a disfigured bitter radical hiding out of sight. Most of our bases in the region are unusable. Inflation is crazy. Great work by Trump. To accomplish...what exactly?
@JarrettBoswell@Bushra1Shaikh Who gives a shit? Guy was gonna die any minute anyway. Now he's replaced by a more radical, injured version. Thanks to Trump, Iran will now pursue a nuke in a deeper mountain.
