Last time I was in DC, we sat right here for 7 days straight to demand the Senate vote on the assault weapons ban.

Now we are back because this vote is happening today!

Today, Leader Schumer will ask for a Unanimous Consent vote on the Assault Weapons Ban. Ethan’s Law and Universal Background Checks will also receive a formal request.

This is a really big deal for the movement and progress. Thousands of young people and survivors around the country in red and blue states worked for this!

Today, Democrats will prove again that they are fighting for the American people.

Republicans on the other hand will have a choice: They can either filibuster the vote and demonstrate that they are still representing the corporate gun lobby, or they can vote to prioritize people over profit.

The Democratic Party has consistently shown that they are fighting for my generation’s lives and our right not to be shot. In return, we will usher in a blue wave in 2024.
