@k8roulette2 Last summer they tried to make me take every English class 6-12 because they couldn't find a junior high teacher and the contract gives them the right to have me teach "whatever best serves the district"

I'm looking back on this tweet nearly two years later, a week before state.

I want to tell past me she did it. She got her class. She generated interest. That first year? 2 entries for champs, 1 to festival

The second year? 7 entries to champs 5 to festival. Every kid qualified

Suggestions for generating interest in Forensics at a small school? (Think like 50 kids 9-12). Admin says no class unless I can generate enough interest. At this point I would be happy to have a team, whether I get the class added to my schedule or not.

@heymrsbond One time I had students do surveys for part of a research paper they were writing, and I had them post their survey links in Google Classroom for their peers.

In hindsight, that really was a Rick Roll opportunity waiting to happen and I'm surprised only one kid took it

@heymrsbond Since is this the Twitter, I feel the need to add that this kid (sophomore) has matured a lot since then (7th) and while a bit impulsive, isn't a violent or mean kid.

@heymrsbond One of my kids got warned he'd get a detention if he kept messing around by a para. He told us the day before school let out for spring break in 2020 he got a detention to serve after break...and then they didn't come back. "Do I need to punch someone for a longer break again?"
