Engineer → builder. 🛠️
Something new is coming ✨

[Noah Kagan @noahkagan]

My friend Austin asked me what he should build to make money.

So I looked at 12 months of AppSumo sales and what people search for.

Everyone's building AI agents. The median AI agent sold $17K.

The median "get found in ChatGPT" tool sold $257K. 🤯

Here's what to build, ranked 👇

@mitansh_j07 @Cloudflare Thanks! 🙏 The failures were the most useful part to share.

Building the waitlist for my first product taught me more about Cloudflare than I expected.

Started with Google Sheets as the “database”. Ended on @Cloudflare Workers + D1.

Here’s the journey, including the bits that broke 🧵 #BuildInPublic

@valerioamirani @Cloudflare Great tip! Already storing source + referrer on that same INSERT 🙌 Adding utm_campaign next, so it’s per-post rather than per-platform.

[Aadil Mehraj @thumbleeX]

That’s the journey so far.

Can’t share much about the product yet, but it’s coming soon.

Lessons:

• Sheets is a great v0 database
• “Works in Node” ≠ “works on the edge”
• Keep runtime secrets and build vars separate
• Let the database enforce uniqueness, not your code

How to build in public with copycats lurking? That’s the question

But I think if your app is so simple that someone can copy it with a prompt… then you probably don’t have an app for the App Store in 2026 anyway

And that doesn’t mean you build more complex things. It means you have something hidden behind the scenes that can’t be copied

Data, network effect or even a marketing approach nobody has considered yet. Keep that stuff private. But share the journey, the thought process, the story, the tools you’re using to build it.

The key is to build your reputation just as much as building the app itself. And I honestly believe it *has* to be part of your app strategy in 2026

@paulg Sometimes the best opportunity is the one you create for yourself. 😂

[Aadil Mehraj @thumbleeX]

@JonBuildsHQ I’m slowly realizing that time is the one thing I want more control over. Building something of my own is my way of getting there. 🙌

[Aadil Mehraj @thumbleeX]

@rishabhnasa Thanks, mate! 🙌 Will definitely share the mistakes too. Love the idea of building while learning!

[Aadil Mehraj @thumbleeX]

After years away from X, I’m back.

I want to build my own SaaS products, apps, and AI tools -. eventually creating a business that lets me work for myself.

I’ll share what I build, learn, and get wrong.

Starting before I feel ready.

Day 1. 🚀
