I love the tribalism with college football, but the “if you don’t renew season tickets, you’re not a true fan” people are insufferable.
Like sorry if my life doesn’t revolve around *shoveling my hard-earned money at a collegiate athletic department*
@MattThompson87 Fans who have been around the CFB landscape for more than 10 years remember when bowls used to mean something. It’s almost not even a third of what it did mean now. Now it feels like an exhibition and becoming more like the NFL’s pro bowl.
@MattThompson87 I’m as bummed as everyone else about this past month, but it’s important to zoom out. Think of the conversations we were having 4 years ago.
And despite the loss, the Pitt game atmosphere was incredible. Never seen or heard BDS like that before. King played a huge role…
If the way this team has trended this month continues, you’re looking at an around 45-28 uga win.
I’m really not trying to be pessimistic, vibe feels off after that Pitt loss though. I hope I’m so wrong.
It’s one of my least favorite stats, but since both teams are still mathematically alive:
- Georgia is 12-0 vs GT the week prior to playing in the SEC Championship game.
- GT is 1-3 vs Georgia the week prior to playing in the ACC Championship game.
No matter the result of the game, I just feel bad for Haynes King.
Dude’s a warrior, Heisman-talent. Got rewarded with an awful defense, to say the least. And that’s the story, not him. Just sad
