@AMcKellar89 I think the numbers are ok on this though, no? It's only a 3k increase on the BASIC rate (to 16k). The ~£50k increase is on the HIGHER rate, which is only 20% of taxpayers. So the 49bn cost seems fine imo.

@Dotsy1978 @AMcKellar89 Boost to economy how? Because 'plenty will spend their saving'? Higher earners tend to do the opposite so potentially not much will go back into the economy. And reducing income tax is, by definition, a clear tax cut.
