Such a lovely evening @HSKWaterstones discussing #Economica: A Global History of Women, Wealth & Power 📗, out now in paperback @headline_press@headlinebooks. We spanned the centuries and the globe, placing women at the heart of the rise and decline of nations. A fabulous audience, a great Q&A and a wonderful bookshop. Thank you Ciara and the team at High Street Kensington.
I guess there’s no choice but to start over.
For the past three months, I refused to make a new account because I didn’t want to admit I’d lost. I kept hoping one day I’d get my old account back and surprise everyone like, ‘Hey! Miss me? I’m back!’ — like I’d really beaten the hacker. But that didn’t happen. For all the way I tried, still, miracles didn't come.
Because the case wasn't normal, getting my account back turned out way harder than I thought. What really drained me wasn’t the endless trying, but realizing I lost to AI this way I never worried about before. What an era that ppl use AI to bait and scam, forcing ppl have to use AI to fight AI. Social media can be so awful, but our lives are already stuck with it, especially as creator and followers, we rely on social media to get connections.
Tho there's still one or two options ongoing that still hope to have my account back, I choose to care no more. The sisters need to move forward, not stand still.
i hate to constantly whine and whine but i happen to be in a horribly rough spot right now, bad luck after bad luck with literally nothing and no real way to do anything about it, so im going to bump this again in case anyone feels like giving literally anything, thank you
Palestinian journalist Mohammad Baalousha was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Ahmed Yassin Street in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City.
Baalousha, a correspondent for Lebanon’s Al-Mashhad Channel, had been closely documenting Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Approximately two weeks after Al-Nasr Children’s Hospital was evacuated, he visited the facility and found the decomposing bodies of babies in the intensive care unit—a consequence of the siege that deprived Gaza’s healthcare system of electricity, medicine, and aid.
Despite being shot in the leg by Israeli forces earlier, Baalousha continued reporting until his death. His killing brings the number of journalists killed in Gaza to 195, according to the Palestinian Journalists’ Forum, which condemned the lack of international action to protect Palestinian journalists.
