@AnthonyMKreis I don’t disagree, but COA have been known to reassign cases to a different district courtjudge even when they found recusal unwarranted if they felt it would serve the interests of justice (say avoid the appearance of impropriety). Happened to me on a 4TH Circuit case I handled.
