@ShxcksBW Unfortunately, the government is not ready to provide "public" transport. It's public transport in the hands of private entities whose investments are curtailed by fare regulations. Safety becomes really secondary. It's a conversation we should have with the seriousness deserved.

@KagoLNgwato With increased traffic, conflict of movement rises, increasing chances of accidents (logic). Factor in issues of drunken driving and general excitement (judgment impaired), this can be catastrophic. Again, you can have just one isolated accident that kills many - unpredictable.

@KagoLNgwato Yeah, I have modeled law enforcement and driver behavior to a limited extent. Road accidents are quite a complex phenomenon, warranting studying a specific case independently. Overall, holidays tend to be outliers coz of special circumstances: increased traffic and excitement.
