Three U.S. Postal Service carriers in Houston just got federally indicted in a massive check-theft ring.

They were recruited to pull checks straight off their routes before delivery. Those checks were then sold on a Telegram channel called “Slips and Chips” and shipped out via FedEx.

Federal prosecutors say the total? Nearly $24 million — $23,973,338.15 to be exact.

One single stolen check was for $1.5 million.

These aren’t random thieves. These are the people the system trusts with millions of mail-in ballots every election cycle.
