If you don’t believe the Bible at all, please take a look at the book of Daniel and check your assumptions and preconceptions at the door before you start.
I was entirely convinced as a young adult that the NT Bible had been altered too much to be trusted and that there was no way to validate the OT as anything other than a Jewish historical tradition that was updated as they went along.
An honest and skeptical analysis will lead you away from that conclusion.
The book of Daniel has incredibly precise prophecy about world events that would happen centuries after the book was written (even by secular skeptics dating), let alone translated into Greek for the Septuagint before 250 bc. The main secular objection for the book of Daniel is that the book is too accurate to have been written when it was.

The Masoretic text most bible are translated from was done almost a millennium afterwards and has verses redacted and changed to defend Judaism from arguments for Christianity. https://t.co/pZYVe14055…
This is also important as the new testament quotes from the Old Testament are largely from the Septuagint.
Daniel gives the exact day the messiah would come to Jerusalem.

Jesus IS the Christ.

The Tanach describes his crucifixion in Isaiah 53 and psalm 22 There are multiple implicit and a couple explicit references to God manifest in the flesh there too so the divinity of the messiah is not a post death invention by dejected followers, think the battle of Jericho where the “angel” invites worship, Abram serves a meal to the three “men” who aren’t and God is one of the three while no one can see god (father) face to face and live.

Look at the names in the genealogy from Adam to Noah, we just see the name as a transliteration but they give you the meanings in the text.
It’s a summary of the Christian doctrine in genesis BC era Jewish rabbis definitely didn’t plant that intentionally.

Kenan – Sorrow
Mahalalel – The blessed God
Jared – Shall come down
Enoch – Teaching
Methuselah – His death shall bring
Lamech – Despairing
Noah – Comfort and rest

Read the actual Bible in a literal translation for yourself. There are free apps and sites like blue letter Bible https://t.co/AjkOWYslf2 that let you read many versions of the Bible and get at the raw Greek or Hebrew of the text to check difficult verses. Mark/write down any issues serious doubts you have and they will be resolved as you study.

most probably want to keep people from starving but have two hang ups. 1. government isn't the correct tool for the job and generally wastes many resources local orgs like the... CHURCH... use more efficiently. and 2. 2 Thessalonians 3:10–12 (ESV)

it's one letter off from the Joshua of the OT. the names all have meanings. you don't willingly get tortured to death because of an allegory and then have a generation of people who insist they saw Him alive after said death also willingly submit to be tortured to death because of an allegory. even more so, you don't end up with one of the main antagonists advocating for the execution of His followers suddenly swap sides and then also be willing to be imprisioned, tortured, impoverished, and also executed for an allegory.

BUT it also has bias and guardrails built in. It may still be that way or it might have been fixed, but chatGPT flat refused to read, not interpret, just read, multiple verses. Not controversial one, not the ones you might expect discussing the SoS or who killed the Lord…

We donate our excess eggs and I have a list of verse references I rotate through with maybe a hundred verses that talk about food or God providing blessings. My 9 year old asked what that verse was and I was cooking so I asked chatGPT to read it to us. It started and then cuts out and says my guidelines won’t let me talk about that. There were multiple verses that triggered it but this was the first I found:

IF you train a model and don’t nerf it then yes, it could answer with a meaningful answer, you can help existing LLM with a RAG and vault, but we should be looking to the Spirit to teach us all things, not some code on a computer.

Look at the tribes they were told to devote to destruction and you’ll see they were the tribes with nephilim descendants.

That’s the point, conviction doesn’t cut it. Good deeds don’t cut it, belief doesn’t cut it if its misplaced. That’s religion. You need relationship with and atonement from The God not a god… but to get that you’re going to need faith in God and for that you’re going to need grace bestowed by Him. Praise God He’s given that to us by sending His Son to pay the penalty and give us that grace, as a gift, no gangrenous feet required or hand forever locked in the air required.

okay then... In Lukes Greek every name in the genealogy has the definite article except Joseph's name. That sets him outside the chain being as was supposed the son of Joseph of Heli. So Jesus is really the grandson of Heli through Mary. Its a levirate style deal. Go check the daughters of Zelophehad in Numbers 27 and 36. They inherit the line when theres no sons and marry inside the clan to keep it going. Joseph marries Mary daughter of Heli no brothers mentioned and becomes the legal son in the record. That carries Helis line forward.And this gets around the blood curse on the Davidic line after Jeconiah. Jeremiah 22:30 says none of his offspring will sit on the throne. Matthew gives Josephs legal royal line through Solomon and Jeconiah so Jesus gets the throne right by adoption. But Luke gives Marys biological line through Nathan and through that route there is no Jeconiah no curse. Virgin birth means the blood is uncursed from Mary. Perfect harmony.God laid things out like the ultimate Rube Goldberg machine before the world was created and we get to marvel at His work! The whole Bible is like that once you start looking.

Thankfully Jesus fulfilled the law and we're not under it anymore. Break one part and you've broken the whole thing (James 2:10). Hopefully you don't wear mixed fabrics, eat shellfish, pork, or cheeseburgers, shave your beard or sideburns, or skip all the temple tithes and offerings at that temple that doesn't currently exist. Hopefully you've never seen someone in need and not helped them, never made a promise and then broken it, never kept a library book longer than you should have, never argued and yelled at your parents, and never had a lustful or rage filled thought... Paul discusses this at length. All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. Those things forbidden like boiling a kid in its mother’s milk, cutting yourself for the dead, etc. were standard practices in Canaanite idol worship. Tattooing the only name by which we must be saved is very far from worshiping false gods.
