tongue pressed right to his cheek; because he just gave her a free pass on her weirdness. seemingly. “ i fear as though if i was allergic to goldfish or peanut butter, you could kick the chair on my behalf. ”

pulling the suit off him boots and all. leaving him in just a pair of boxers. “figured. i’m surprised you stopped at that. you’re allowed to, y’know?”

she’s playfully rolling her eyes before doom scrolling on her phone for perhaps the entire time he’s gone. just because she was made in a lab does not mean that she’s not a girl in her twenties who enjoys perusing.

[‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎*𝐛𝐞 ‎ ‎ ‎‎‎𝖌𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓. @thwipsfirst]

“yeah? i couldn't tell.” stepping back towards the window. “i'll be back. i promise.” one look back at her before swinging off.

hands on her forehead as she shook her head—— “ i, too, am a fan of spider-man. ” maren won’t ask next time. she’s going to start venmoing him without asking.

“bagel with butter and peanut butter. got it.” he leans forward slightly, giving her lips a quick kiss before he can properly register it. “i won’t be long. i promise.”

[𝓈𝗂𝗋𝖾𝗇 𝗂𝗓 𝗆𝖾𝗋𝗍𝗏𝗒𝗄𝗁 𝗓𝖾𝗆𝖾𝗅． @gutscrash]

she shook her head— maybe too quick to respond before swallowing hard. “ awkward? no. new? fuck— yeah, sorta. ” big brown eyes met his, “ i will give you ten bucks if you bring back a bagel with butter and peanut butter. ”

[‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎*𝐛𝐞 ‎ ‎ ‎‎‎𝖌𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓. @thwipsfirst]

that breaks him out of the trance he had himself in. “no —— shit i’ll be back. do you uh … need me to bring you anything?” is this awkward?

there’s a small nod as she’s curling back up into her bed. “ not the first time, parker. ” a rather silly statement, not that she’s laughing. “ do you have— just the suit or? ”

[‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎*𝐛𝐞 ‎ ‎ ‎‎‎𝖌𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓. @thwipsfirst]

the grip on his mask loosens, letting it fall to the floor. “if you’re sure..” sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. for the first time in awhile, he’s grounded. right where he’s supposed to be. “mind if i stay the night?”

biting the innards of her cheek— hard enough to make her eyes prickle with tears. nothing blinking can’t help make disappear. “ i think you’ll be a quick learner, parker. ” the faintest hint of a smile on her lips. “ and if we both ;

swallowing a breath he didn't know he was holding. he's been practically on edge the whole time. one wrong move away from running (again). “do you want to? i can't promise you i'll be very good at it.”

[𝓈𝗂𝗋𝖾𝗇 𝗂𝗓 𝗆𝗋𝗍𝗏𝗒𝗄𝗁 𝗓𝖾𝗆𝖾𝗅． @gutscrash]

a pause— the look of bambi taking over again as she’s staring at him, and really searching for any amount of sarcasm, because without that; there’s hope. “ oh— can we learn together? ” inhale. hold. exhale. “ or is that off the table? ”

she felt her cheeks get hot— not with embarrassment, not with anger, but those feelings she didn’t know how to label. “ that— okay. ” deeeep breaths. “ why? ”
