Uchenna Idoko, Executive Director of the Centre for Gender Economics in Africa, shared how the Labour Party presidential candidate personally intervened when she was about to miss her flight after hours of waiting at the airport.

Raised to be non-religious and non-political, Uchenna said Peter Obi’s act of compassion deeply touched her humanity.

Here’s her heartfelt account:

I have been trained in the third sector (NGOs) to remain non-religious and non-political, but today you touched my humanity.

Thank you for your kindness, Sir.
My flight was rescheduled twice. After finally boarding at the aircraft door, I was told there was no seat left and I had to return to the bus to wait again.

Their staff ordered me to hurry onto the bus. Exhausted after waiting since 11am, I shouted in tears that I wouldn’t allow it by almost 6pm. Hopeless, I turned and started walking down the stairs.
That was when you stood up for me and ensured I got a seat.

God will stand up for you, Sir, until you reclaim your position. Just as you came through for me today, He will come through for you.

God bless you, Mr. Peter Obi. Rule with kindness! 🙏
