This evening, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined thousands of Rwandan youth for the annual Walk to Remember and Night Vigil at BK Arena, as part of the #Kwibuka32 remembrance activities, where young Rwandans stand together to uphold the memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
President @PaulKagame and the @FirstLadyRwanda lit the Flame of Remembrance. This flame, a symbol of hope and resilience, will burn brightly for 100 days, mirroring the length of the Genocide against the Tutsi. It serves as a beacon of remembrance, inspiring us to honour the past, cherish the present, and build a future rooted in unity and peace. #Kwibuka32
@NormanIshimwe@rpfinkotanyi While you distort, I call it Accountability.
As Rwandan public servants, our focus must be to deliver for citizens all day, every day.
It’s an honor to work for a President who embodies service, integrity, ambition & a heart for Rwandans.

#EidMubarak to Muslims in Rwanda and around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. May this celebration bring peace, hope, and blessings to every home, every country and region, and serve as a reminder of the importance of generosity, unity, and shared humanity.

This weekend in Los Angeles, President Kagame attended the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, hosted at the Intuit Dome.
On the sidelines of the game, President Kagame met with leaders from the sports and business community, including Steve Ballmer, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. Their discussions reflected the growing ties between Rwanda and the NBA, including the partnership launched last year between the Clippers and Visit Rwanda.
“Accepting that you exist on the mercy of others is a mistake, it is something we should treat as unacceptable. We were not created by anyone, whoever they may be. No one owns us.
It doesn’t matter how powerful you are. It doesn’t matter how rich you are. It doesn’t matter how willing you are to use that power for the wrong ends. We, from a small country like Rwanda, we should be able to stand up to that.” President Kagame | #Umushyikirano2026
