I've been able to get away sometimes slacking off on the 1%ers (core stability, range of motion, back mobility, diet etc...) in my younger years, but that is no longer the case. Running on its own doesn't cut it anymore...
Track & Field is literally called Athletics in the rest of the world. It is sport in its purest form, and it's disciplines form the basis for all other sports and their training. #saveathletics
Most injuries are preventable through very gradual exposure to new stress loads. Take your time, don't rush into any new phase of training and your body will make the necessary adaptations to handle high loads eventually.
After a lot of reflection, I decided to write about my experiences running for @uofg with Dave Scott-Thomas as my coach. I hope we can find a way to make the running world better for athletes at all levels.
