People in their 20s and 30s love going out, partying, drinking, staying at bars and clubs until 5 a.m. I’ve done it all. I’ve gone out drunk and I’ve gone out sober. And what I’ve realized is that most people aren’t there to have fun. They’re there searching for something. Validation, distraction, a feeling, anything to fill a void.

If you’re out until 5 a.m., you have to ask yourself why. And honestly, you rarely meet quality people in those environments. So many nights I came home thinking, what was the point of that? I wasted time, money, and energy on people I didn’t care about and would probably never see again.

No one really talks about that part. The truth is, a lot of it isn’t glamorous. It’s just draining.
