A Bible verse is permanently stored inside Bitcoin.

In January 18, 2021 someone sent $160 worth of Bitcoin across two addresses.

The wallets involved were labeled “GoD” and “BibLE.”

This was 5x the normal fee just to guarantee inclusion of the verse in that exact block.

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12 :21"

This was the exact message.

It was embedded permanently on block 666,666 using OP_RETURN, a Bitcoin script that lets you store up to 80 bytes of data permanently on-chain.

666 in Christian tradition is the mark of the Antichrist, from the Book of Revelation in the Bible.

Someone saw block 666,666 coming and decided to add a nightmare to Christian's lives.

We still don't know who.

This wasn't the first time someone wrote a message on Bitcoin's walls.

In Block 0 which is popularly known as the Genesis Block, Satoshi Nakamoto himself embedded a Times of London headline:

“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.”

This was like a middle finger from him to the old financial systems.

In 2014 also, Someone used 145 addresses linked to Craig Wright to sign a message calling him "a liar and a fraud," ending with: "We are all Satoshi."
