Yesterday, we toured Hoima City Stadium as part of the ongoing cabinet retreat organised by the Cabinet Secretariat. The visit was to assess the government's readiness and preparedness to host AFCON 2027.

Hoima City Stadium is one of the key facilities earmarked for the tournament. We inspected the progress of works, support infrastructure, and alignment with CAF requirements. Government remains committed to delivering world-class facilities that meet international standards and leave a lasting legacy for sports development in Uganda.

Later in the day, we also visited and familiarised ourselves with several milestone infrastructure projects in the Bunyoro sub-region. These include the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), Kabalega International Airport, and the Kingfisher Development Project, among others.

These strategic projects are critical to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation agenda under NDP-IV, Vision 2040, and the Ten-Fold Growth Strategy. They will boost energy, security, regional connectivity, job creation, and household incomes in Bunyoro and across the country and hence thrive in the upper middle-income status.

Earlier today, ARDC Tsongo Tien visited Kisinga Vocational Secondary School on a routine monitoring mission. With Ebola cases being managed in the neighborhood, ensuring our schools are safe is a top priority.
