There are over 2 million Californians who live near oil wells and face serious health risks. Delaying protections for 4 more years is a handout to Big Oil. Communities deserve justice NOW. #NoDelay#SetbacksNow#CALeg@GavinNewsom@CAgovernor

Please stop scapegoating CEQA for our state's (affordable) housing crisis: "The 469 Stevenson site has continued to sit empty as a parking lot since the approval of the 495 market-rate residential project for developer Build Inc. over a year ago."

Montana, New York, and Pennsylvania have already passed "Green Amendments" that guarantee people's right to a healthy environment. California needs to lead the way as well. #GreenZones#healthyhoods#EJprorities@cejaaction
The ACA-16 amendment acknowledges that everyone has a right to clean air, clean water, & a healthy environment. #Environmentaljustice communities statewide would be one step closer to ensuring their protection from pollution impacts.
Assemblymembers must vote in support! #ACA16
Appreciated meeting with Marissa from @Ash_Kalra’s office to learn more about the Assemblymember’s priorities in the #CAClimateBond and his personal motivation to create a more climate resilient CA. Thank you @Ash_Kalra for taking the lead on a number of CEJA’s EJ priorities!
Had a great conversation with Aurora from @SenGonzalez33’s office about @cejapower’s environmental justice priorities for 2024! Thank you, Senator Gonzalez, for your continued leadership and support for real #climate and #EJsolutions that center frontline communities.
Yesterday @CAGovernor signed housing bills that failed to center communities and public health. Despite conversations w/ decision-makers, we’re disappointed not to see more EJ protections and deeper affordability reflected.

We need #environmentaljustice to achieve #housingjustice.
Unfortunately, CA’s latest streamlining housing bills don’t go far enough to protect EJ communities.
We urge legislators to read our platform for safe and affordable housing ➡️ https://t.co/cmBhG6cD7G
We’re hugely thankful for @LuzRivas leadership on #SB4, ensuring that affordable housing in CA, in accordance with state law, won’t be built next to active oil/gas facilities. CEJA is excited to work with such a devoted EJ champion on the just transition away from fossil fuels
More members to thank, but before I go to bed, have to send another shout out of appreciation to @LauraFriedmanCA for advocating for the 3,200 setback from oil and gas. It’s a common sense #Environmentaljustice protection and it’s current law. This is for #LA and all communities
Whew. Many thanks to @AsmMuratsuchi for championing an #environmentaljustice setback from oil and gas operations in #SB4 tonight. Truly appreciate those who understand the importance of protections for #EJ communities in #LA. We need #HealthyHoods
Just witnessed an amazing late night discussion on #SB4 in Nat. Res. tonight. Thank you @LuzRivas for your incredible leadership to get more EJ protections into the bill. Communities deserve safe and affordable housing - AND clean air to breathe ✊🏽@cejaaction
Watching the #SB4#ANR hearing today & a bit disappointed by the conversation. EJ communities are asking for common sense health protections in the bill. Low-income residents should not have to choose between having housing and protecting their health. We deserve #healthyhoods
If you support the safety of California residents, we need you to stand strong on this! @AsmGailPellerin and @AsmRickZbur we hope we can count on your support for community health
The amendments to #SB 4 are the bare minimum. We've seen too many environmental justice communities ravaged by asthma and cancer caused by proximity to polluters. @AsmChrisWard, @LauraFriedmanCA, and @JimWoodAD2 need to tell Weiner to protect our residents
Today the Assembly will vote on SB 4, a bill that could place housing next to freeways, industrial facilities, and oil and gas plants. @Scott_Wiener needs to support common sense health protections to keep our communities safe as he's done in the past
