@LarrySMith4 @Ken_Rosenthal All the whiffing creates fewer chances for exceptional defensive plays and I think that hurts baseball. But teams are doing what analysis has shown results in more runs. I think it's great for the offensive highlight reel but far less interesting if you're watching a full game.

@Dan_Dickerson Thanks for the recap but even moreso for the history lesson. I still have my poster from Gehringer/Greenberg day back in '83. I didn't comprehend their significance at the time but I'm happy to be able to say I was in Tiger Stadoum with them (and my gramps who had seen them play)
