NEW: Trial of Nicolae Miu enters the second week for a deadly stabbing that took place on the Apple River in Wisconsin in July 2022.

Miu is facing homicide, attempted homicide and battery charges after he stabbed 5 people, killing one.

Miu claims he acted in self defense after he got assaulted by the group of people.

The 54-year-old man's attorneys say he was looking for his cellphone when the group of teenagers started harassing and attacking him.

One of the kids on the river, Owen Peloquin claims Miu made a comment about "little girls" which started the fight.

After getting hit to the ground, Miu pulled out a knife and stabbed 5 of the people, killing 17-year-old Isaac Schuman.
