If anyone is interested, or wants to keep tabs with what I'm doing on this project (I also want a record for my mental sake), this thread will have all the updates and information
Any questions, please let me know and I'd love to answer!
Currently working on a machine learning MLB probability model, essentially to help project MLB opportunity and/or success w/ other factors
Fine tuning it and good bit of a ways to go, but initially it has #Tigers C Manuel Bolivar as a 92% chance & 67% chance at 1x All-Star
Per Cody Stavenhagen, the #Tigers have parted ways with Head Athletic Trainer Ryne Eubanks & Asst. AT Chris McDonald
Felt some changes were coming after the immense tissue & muscle injuries this season with Harris' comments at deadline/post-season about IL
Been a big push of mine so far, fits a lot of what the #Tigers like
Would be able to be a capable SS w/ UTL ability. Scott Harris connection. Limited power output, RHH, puts the ball in play, low strikeout risk, elite glove.
Projected: 2/28, option of 1/14. Might not hit FA
Major League Baseball proposed cutting the regular-season schedule from 162 games to 154 games in a bargaining session with the MLBPA today. Also part of its proposal: higher seeds in playoffs get to choose their opponents, and division series expand to seven games.
Really glad to see Jose Guzman get some love after a 2.41 ERA, 1.11 WHIP in 56 IP this year at Lakeland.
Stuff is coming along, induced 50% GB in 2026 w/ a 30% whiff, 31.2% chase, and 49% zone-strike rate. 81% contact rate allowed (not great but doable). Really fun SL/SNK/CH

While it might be easy to criticize Ankeney’s season, being on the older side for A-ball, he put together an incredibly impressive campaign. He would spend the majority of the year in Low-A, where he hit 15 of his 24 HR.
Ankeney boasted great EVs while with Lakeland. His 92 mph AvgEV was good for the 89th percentile. The area he lacks is the swing decisions. If he can develop better plate discipline, he can pair possible plus power with a more refined hit tool.

Some very interesting #Tigers Arbitration projections:
Green - 8.9M
Torkelson - 7.9M
McKinstry - 4.25M
Carpenter - 4.25M
Vest - 3.95M
Holton - 3.5M
Vierling - 3.25M
Real questions come with Torkelson, McKinstry, Carpenter. Expect non-tender on Vierling.
@TwistedFocus99 Also for me, 4.2M is not bad for a guy over the last two years has been a strong leverage option. You can't sign many guys like Vest in FA for that money, worse case he's a mid or low leverage arm, that's also fine.
@TwistedFocus99 Vest numbers were down last year but a lot under the hood as well that take notice and are pretty interesting.
,FIP, SEIRA were way lower than his ERA, still generated a ton of whiff/chase. Velo was down which led to the higher SLG, figure that's fixed after this year
Love how MLB is about to go in a lockout in 2 months with owners crying for a salary cap when the AL will be represented by either the White Sox (24th in payroll), Guardians (30th), or Rays (28th) in this upcoming World Series
@ScottUpham@IYKbaseball If McKinstry is getting 300+ PA sure it’s and issue, he’ll likely see 150+ if that. He’s a gold glove caliber defender, great on the bases. The bat sure it’s an issue, but no one else available to take the UTL spot
@ScottUpham@IYKbaseball Anderson and ZMac aren’t comparable. A OF with a plus GG caliber glove and great base running, Anderson is a below average 2B who struggles on the bases and his bat might not translate either
