Trauma survivors DON"T shut down or dissociate because they're scared or weak.

They often shut down because it's exhausting & overwhelming to be feeling ALL THE THINGS, ALL THE TIME-- often in response to triggers that don't even make sense.

You'd shut down & numb out, too.
