Alberta emergency physicians are urging the provincial government to declare a health-care state of emergency as hospitals across the province struggle with severe overcrowding.
Doctors say emergency departments are overwhelmed, with patients facing dangerously long waits for care, and warn that hospitals are currently unable to consistently provide safe and timely treatment due to capacity pressures.
Nine years.
- set policy to go after small and medium businesses after calling them tax cheats.
- massively increase public sector workers and govt bureaucracy such that 1 in 4 working Cdns are employed by the govt.
- impose a carbon tax with large increases adding to the cost of living crisis. Exempt certain provinces because of who they vote for.
- open the floodgates of immigration and non-resident permits like never before putting massive strain on provinces regarding housing, health care, education and police.
- terrible economic productivity with Canadians financially worse off than they were in 2014.
- introduce a emissions cap on the only sector driving the economy at the moment because most of the sector is in Alberta.

Ukraine has held its ground for nearly three years against one of the world’s largest militaries. Where others might have surrendered, Ukraine endures. Even with dwindling support and North Korea’s direct involvement, it stands, deserving far more respect than it’s given.
A notable Alberta hospital has revealed that they intend on getting extra govt funding by forcing their docs to work 60% harder (without any increase in pay or benefits for the docs).
Doctors, why have we not walked out yet? You aren't considered to be people.

There you have it FM Specialists in AB - this is what the "Office of the Premier" thinks...
It wants to use old data, and to intentionally conflate aggregated data to make it seem like there is NO need to invest in the new funding model to support longitudinal FM care in AB

Misinformation about the health care system is spread daily. That's why we launched a new publication: "Fact Checkup" to explain health care system topics that government needs to be accurate and accountable for. Albertans deserve to know what is going on. https://t.co/IgfUctIsgg
Highway of broken promises 🧵.
For FM Specialists holding out hope for a new funding model to ensure their practices remain viable... govt again is releasing promises that "they remain committed"...
Unfortunately I can no longer suggest that hope is imminent in Alberta

The Fall 2024 Representative Forum has been adjourned. A big thank you to our delegates and staff for their hard work. Alberta's health care system is on the brink of collapse. Without immediate action for our doctors, patients all over Alberta will face the consequences.
I have just learned of another 9 family doctors leaving this province. They don’t want me to spill their names as they want to properly notify their patients. But the exodus continues, and grows quicker, despite what the lying politicians, and their army of trolls, say.
