Very frustrated with how hard it is to do anything in the UK without a passport! Applied for daughters provisional old fashioned paper way..have to register an online account but can’t verify ID as no photo ID. Oh, can use bank details…but they say they do not match?! Wtf???

Wow! Just spoke to doctors about my child and they advised that from Jan 26 the age of medical consent is being lowered to 11! So in January anyone with children aged 11-15, your child has to consent to you acting on their behalf when it comes to their medical issues 😱

I have been on countless LNER trains, we all have, I don’t know what happened on that train but I can imagine given that I’ve read people hid in toilets that it went something like this: I want you to imagine sitting on this train. It’s dark outside, you’re starting to warm through after having waited at Kings Cross in the cold night air.
Lights, stations and empty fields rush past the windows. The WiFi is rubbish, you maybe read a book or listen to some music. You stop at Peterborough. Some people get on, some leave. Cool night air rushes in.
The train starts up again. You reach into your bag to get some water and hear a ruckus, sounds of a struggle, a scream. The tone of the sound alerts you and you jolt to alertness with a rush of adrenaline and cortisol. You look over the seat ahead of you and can’t process what you see. Blood, knives. Someone stabbed, shocked.
People start moving, wide eyed and stunned. They’re running down the aisle. You need to move, now.
You raise from your chair, heart racing, head rushing.
Maybe given the end of the half term there’s a mother holding the hand of a child, racing away from the sound of more shouts and screams. Wild eyes mother and child. Seeking a place to hide, on their way home on the train and you have to hide, someone wants to kill you.
You follow and make your way to the toilet, a tiny cabinet, room for one but you and the mother and child hide with you and just before you close the door another man joins, blood on his white shirt.
You lock the door. You hear banging and screaming outside. Minutes drag on forever. The child is crying. Rapid, tense breaths, terror.
The train stops.
You hear running, crying and screams as people escape.
After a few minutes you hear police enter. Once you dare open the door you see blood everywhere, armed police, ambulances, flashing lights, weapons, sirens.
All you were doing was going home after work and you experienced horror.

At least the prime minister offered a piss warm statement of meaningless stock platitudes though.

Hell no doubt offer more platitudes and warnings against people talking about the incident if he mentions it at all. It was only last week he ignored the murder of Wayne Broadhurst. Wayne didn’t matter to Kier. We don’t matter to kier.Kier cares about China and Gaza but not you or me or Wayne. Remember you can’t carry anything to defend yourself either. No defence. No hurty words. Just pipe down and shut up and be happy with your platitudinous statements.

I was on the Huntingdon train.

I only know of one attacker, he got on the train from Peterborough. He was black mid 20’s. We ran from the back of the train to the end as everyone was screaming to run, explaining there was somebody stabbing everyone and everything.

This really scares me thinking my 16yr old rides the bus and train for college plus they had a lockdown last week due to a man with a knife on the busway outside. I’m fucking outraged our streets are not safe anywhere!!
