On 30 January 2026, the NIA Coalition submitted a petition to the Public Service Commission seeking clarity and accountability regarding the promotion, and cessation of service of senior public officers.
Today, we welcome the court's decision to nullify the 30 contested promotions. The court found that the @ODPP_KE , failed to demonstrate that the recruitment and promotion process was based on objective merit or that it met the constitutional standards of fairness, equity, and transparency.

Last week, TI-Kenya joined other TARLY (Towards Accountable & Responsive Leadership for the Youth) consortium partners and leaders; @AmnestyKenya@DefendersKE, @ShujaazInc and @thekhrc for a two-day youth manifesto and leadership co -creation forum.
The youths developed county manifestos to guide their advocacy and engagement for better, more inclusive leadership.
The leaders present pointed out the need to plan better as we head to the general to the next general elections to ensure the youth voices count.
‘’We must ensure we get the right leaders into office at all levels, and youth-led vetting of leaders can be one way to promote accountability, ‘' said Sheila Masinde.

Article 10 of the Constitution of Kenya enshrines public participation, yet suppression, limited information, and poor feedback persist. @MuemActionPost Executive Director @WaHarrisonB joined the @TIKenya Panel of Experts Forum under the EU-SEE Project.

Today, I joined @TIKenya, Executive Director, @SheiMasinde, @DiakoniaAfrica & partners for the World Whistleblower Day regional forum.
The harsh reality across East Africa: whistleblower protection is dangerously weak. The eye that witnesses injustice deserves protection, not persecution! We must urgently push for robust legislative reforms to protect those who courageously stand up for the public interest. ✊🏾🇰🇪

Whistleblowers play a critical role in promoting transparency and accountability.
Today, we, together with @DiakoniaAfrica, @uncaccoalition convened a Regional Multi-Stakeholder Forum in Nairobi to mark #WorldWhistleblowerDay under the theme: Rededication to Enhanced Protection and Solidarity for Whistleblowers, bringing together voices from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania & Rwanda.
With a keynote address from Ms. Charity Hanene Nchimnya, Executive Secretary, African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption @AUABC_, remarks from our E.D, @SheiMasinde, Dr. Njahira Karanja representing United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime @UNODCEastAfrica, Ms. Christine Saru, the Africa Economic Justice Programme Manager, @DiakoniaAfrica and a panel featuring @OkiyaOmtatah, discussions highlighted a critical reality: whistleblower protection remains one of the weakest links in anti-corruption efforts across the region despite existing frameworks.

Fantastic news from Siaya County @of_siaya! Our partnership on land and succession justice is delivering real impact 💥. Through @TIKenya, widows have secured land ownership—protecting livelihoods and empowering vulnerable women 🚺📜🌽
Our partnership with @TIKenya has strengthened good governance across TVETs in @KisumuCountyKE. Empowered Boards are now creating robust strategic plans that improve service delivery, raise internal revenue, and significantly grow student enrollment. 📈📥🏫🎒
With @TIKenya 🇰🇪, we’re encouraging the participation of marginalized groups in county‑level public finance management. Via the County Assembly Women Caucuses, grassroots voices are shaping inclusive budgets & promoting accountability and transparent public decision‑making 📊👩🏾⚖️
We join @TIKenya in recognising and celebrating the work of whistleblowers as watchdogs of good governance and democracy. We call upon Parliament and all the relevant stakeholders to pass the Whistleblower Protection Bill to cement the protection of whistleblowers
#BlowtheWhistle
Whistleblowers help expose corruption, protect public resources and strengthen accountability — often at great personal risk.
On #WorldWhistleblowerDay, @UNODC joined @TIKenya, and regional partners in Nairobi to advance commitments on whistleblower protection.
Whistleblowers are key to transparency and accountability.
Yet in Kenya, legal protections remain limited, with the Whistleblower Protection Bill still under consideration in Parliament.
This World Whistleblower Protection Day, we call for the urgent enactment of a robust legal framework to protect those who report wrongdoing.

Kenya would not be grappling with a massive repayment burden on the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) had the government conducted proper due diligence before embarking on the project, a new report by @TIKenya has found.
