@Ninnin_xo Some of these residents are not safe to care for at home. Unless you’re willing to be there 24/7. In nursing homes they are free to wonder around as doors are locked and lots of safe areas. Also some people are simply neglecting family members and are happy because they are”home”

@Ninnin_xo Also, the vast majority of people in nursing homes are there due to issues related to Dementia, cognitive impairment or have a lot of chronic illnesses or are struggling to manage and mobilise well at home. They get their meals each day, a nurse to support them, activities etc

@theashrb I have had people use AI blatantly in front of me to make very basics decisions. The excessive use of AI and short form content, the effects on the brain especially in young people would make a very interesting study.

@theashrb They always pick and choose which people to fine! He just found an easy target. I bet he doesn’t even go near people that are responsible for littering all sorts that are detrimental to the environment. I do think a caution or warning would’ve been better in this situation

@theashrb Majority of general medical beds are taken up by patients over the age of 70. Out of them, at least half of them again are over the age of 80/85.

@conradsimpson @theashrb People are living longer. People aren’t having children. The amount of elderly patients stuck in hospital because they’ve no family and aren’t safe for discharge and are taking up an acute bed. It’s normal for some patients to be on wards for several months to a year

@wickedandproud @moniza_hossain They also still advertise and have large sections catered towards non fiction, classics and other genres. I’m not the target audience for the booktok recs so I use my common sense and go to sections that cater for my needs. People just love to be outraged.

@moniza_hossain Also, bookshops normally have one section for booktok and romantasy fiction. You can still find classics, new releases, non fiction and other fiction genres in bookshops! He would know that if he visited the bookshop regularly
