I haven't posted since late November.

just been building Gas-Fused Tip Jar on @Base and thinking about how we use "standard" patterns without questioning them.

most people use EIP-1167 clones because it is the industry default for saving gas.

on Mainnet, clones are a necessity
on @Base, the saving is only $0.01

low fees are not an excuse for lazy architecture.

I am using sovereign contracts for radical simplicity and runtime efficiency.

when $JESSE launched on @base, I watched gas jump while people rushed to buy.

it made me think about a smaller moment where someone tries to send a 1 dollar tip during the same kind of spike.

when someone tips you onchain, they trust you twice.
once with the actual tip and once with the gas they have to pay on top of it

as a user you can protect yourself with maxFeePerGas in the wallet, but most people never open advanced settings when they just want to say thank you quickly.

I am turning this into a small tip jar experiment on Base with a built in gas fuse and some UI checks on top.

sometimes it feels like I am rebuilding a small wheel, but doing it on Base teaches me how these pieces actually behave together.

what made you feel "I am actually a builder now" for the first time?

I treat every repo and contract as a quiet application to the team.

if I ever join the core team, I want the work to speak first.
