You cannot:
Work full time, raise children, keep a spotless home, show up fully in your marriage, maintain friendships, stay fit, build wealth, read books, pursue hobbies, serve only home cooked meals, answer every email, and still make the 3:30 school pickup.
That standard was created to keep you exhausted and blaming yourself. Let it go.
I remember a couple of years ago, a ex-coworker around the same age as me (20-something, conventionally attractive white woman) said to a group of us while we were talking about Beyoncé, “Beyoncé intimidates me.” And she was genuinely concerned by that feeling. Everyone went silent.
I immediately had a flashback to grad school when another white classmate once told me that I intimidated her too when she first met me, yet she couldn’t explain why. My ex-serial people-pleaser self was internally distraught at the time. 😭 (I was the only Black male in the class at the time. Everyone else was white, Hispanic, or Asian.)
Years later, it all suddenly clicked. So many people cannot fully grasp Beyoncé because she represents a level of Black excellence, confidence, discipline, beauty, power and cultural impact that society never taught them how to comfortably process without centering themselves.
Instead of simply celebrating excellence, they experience it as intimidation. What they are often reacting to is not Beyoncé herself, but the insecurities and biases reflected back at them through her very presence.💡
2. Du’a for Steadfastness Upon the Religion
This was the du’a the Prophet (ﷺ) made most frequently
يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ
Ya Muqallib al-qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala dinik.
"O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart steadfast upon Your religion."
Never take your guidance for granted, your heart can change overnight
Du’a for Husnul Khatimah (A Beautiful Ending)
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُسْنَ الْخَاتِمَةِ
Allahumma inni as’aluka husnal khatimah.
"O Allah, I ask You for a beautiful ending (to my life)."
Nothing matters more than how you leave this dunya.
What do you mean Scott came out and saw the things Whitney said about Leanne, Whitney was talking about Leanne to Scott. He was in that conversation, and Whitney never ever ever said anything bad or disgusting about Leanne. Please stop that nonsense
While everyone is excited to celebrate Eid tomorrow insha Allah, I pray Allah forgives our dead Muslim brothers and sisters their wrongs and grant them Janat Al-Firdaus 🤲
Nothing stands between you and jannah except death when you recite ayat kursi after every salah. This is your reminder and do forget to retweet it so another person can know📌
If tonight is Laylatul Qadr, Ya Allah relieve every Muslim drowning in debt, every father struggling to provide, every mother silently sacrificing for her children. Open doors of halal rizq that nobody can close.
🚨BREAKING! Several black Women’s bodies have been found dead in waterways, rivers and canals.
With each of their deaths not being treated as suspicious and having no third-party involvement.
But instead ruled as accidental and suicidal.
Sadiq Kants London is no longer safe for women!! Ladies please remain vigilant‼️
If you've been waiting for something you deeply want like marriage, the right job, relief from a hardship, or the answer to a du'a you've been making for years, or if you're trying to hold yourself back from a temptation you know wouldn't please Allah like a relationship you shouldn't pursue, a habit you're trying to leave, or a desire that keeps pulling at you, then follow along with this du'a:
Ya Saboor, teach me the patience that doesn't expire. Make me calm when delay tests me and grateful even as I wait. Grant me patience over my desires, and through my trials and upon the deeds that will protect me from the Fire.
Ya Haleem, You see my mistakes and still give me time to fix them. You watch my slips and still cover them in kindness. Make me forbearing with those around me and quick to forgiveness with those who may wrong me.
Ya 'Aliyy, Ya Muta'aaly, raise my heart above resentment and smallness. Lift my gaze towards the higher ways that reach You. And place my hopes in what lasts with You. Let my character rise, even when my status falls, for You are higher than everything that confuses me or defeats me. Lift me above pettiness, above despair, above sin, until my soul finds its peace in Your elevation.
Amin🤲
This Laylatul Qadr, some Muslims are crying in sujood because of sins they cannot seem to escape. Some are addicted to things they hate. Some are ashamed of their past. Ya Allah, tonight grant them sincere tawbah, break every chain of sin, and replace their darkness with guidance.
A black woman from Kenya disappeared in the UK and was found dead in a body of water.
Barely anyone reported on it.
No one is saying her name.
She’s being forgotten.
Melissa is doing incredible work to raise awareness about cases no one else will report on.
Normalize saying,
“La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz-zalimin”
The moment you felt anxious, stressed, empty or heartbroken, In’sha Allah everything is going to be alright.
