As for the hypothetical trade, the Cubs only "win" it under two circumstances.

1. Clase or Bieber represent well for the Cubs in an LCS and/or WS scenario.
2. Morel, Brown, and Caissie are sub-standard MLB players.

MLB announces Cubs minor-league RHP Mathew Peters, who is currently on their Arizona Complex League roster, has been suspended for 2024 ACL season after testing positive for Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, a performance enhancing substance.

Peters, 23, was 12th rd pick in 2022.

He could but there are a lot of experienced rotation options + Vanderbilt doesn’t put freshmen on weekends usually unless there aren’t other viable options.
