#Economics lacks #Diversity, and consequently, creates a #Policy-making system that is absent of inclusivity, and is led by “groupthink.” Excellent discussion here by @steffie_pf and @tim_burnett on findings from a recent Royal Economics Society report. https://t.co/7fuWhyfJu4
"Diversity among economists is crucial for policy-making as it enables the inclusion of a wide range of perspectives and experiences, leading to more informed and effective decision-making" @steffie_pf@tim_burnett@LSEImpactBlog#EconomicPolicy#Diversity

This is a compelling and excellently researched piece on the outrageous way universities have twisted the provisions of work time directive to absolve themselves of the responsibility to protect staff from overwork. @ucu should be all over this. #HigherEd@GuardianEdu
Thrilled that Tim Harford has written about our @RoyalEconSoc report in the @FT! Thanks again to the amazing @steffie_pf for inviting me coauthor on this alongside @tim_burnett Gabriella Cagliesi & @ProfEconDenise.

The report's results are ofc less than thrilling 😏
Disheartening report from @RoyalEconSoc about inclusiveness in economics. Most of the inequalities in higher education (more students from rich families, private schools etc.) apply with double for for students studying economics. & too few women.

We’re trying to get as many followers as Rishi Sunak so we can show the government just how many people are prepared to fight for the NHS.
Please can you help by following us and retweeting this message?
The drudgery of life under capitalism is going to become much more obvious as people can no longer afford to go out and buy stuff to numb the pain of working constantly for people who pay them nothing and treat them like shit.
Royal Mail Group are coming at postal workers with later starts, less sick pay, removing allowances, introducing strike breaking agency and management force, moving work to competitors to intimidate CWU members and more.
RT if you stand with your postal workers.
@thehiddenprof I missed the point at which this account sailed from interesting commentary on the state of HE, to self-pitying keyboard warrior whining about Warwick Uni. Nevertheless, we've past it.
I have spoken to the Prime Minister to tender my resignation as Secretary of State for Health & Social Care.
It has been an enormous privilege to serve in this role, but I regret that I can no longer continue in good conscience.
Please retweet if you want Labour, LibDems and Greens to cooperate at the next election in order to oust the Tories and introduce PR so that we never again have to endure a Tory Government with an eighty seat majority obtained with just 43% of the popular vote.
