My hot take...
There is freaking no reason to keep working a $100K or more 9-5 job after age 35.
You've shown you have the skills and experience already. Every minute you stay is another minute you get underpaid. And if layoffs strike you're cooked.
I retired from corporate at 34. I'm not that smart.
The modern $100K+ 9-5 job is nothing more than cowards refusing to take a chance on themselves.

12 things I did to make my digital business replace my full-time job:
1. Expected to do it for at least 10 years
2. Told the brutal truth even if it pissed off adult babies.
3. Did it with pure obsession to the point of almost going insane.
4. Had a psychopathic sense of urgency. I wanted it more than I wanted to breathe.
5. Paid to learn from the best practitioners in my field.
6. Made it a daily habit and never took a day off.
7. Created high ticket offers more than low ticket offers.
8. Got around the most successful people in my space without being needy or asking to pick their brain.
9. Saw the transformation in my own life and made that the center of the story I share on social media.
10. Led with stories instead of how-to content.
11. Focused on using social media to gain attention, not to sell.
12. Replaced having a niche with having a worldview.
Nothing happens and then everything happens. Most will quirt before they unlock their potential. Don’t let that be you.
Patterns I noticed in successful people in my life:
• People think they’re insane
• They’re relentless at follow up
• They reply to emails in one sentence
• They are so high agency it’ll rip peoples faces off
• They understand the enormous value of pattern recognition
• They don’t give a flying f*ck about people’s opinions
• They don’t network and let their work do the work
• They have confidence that comes from action
• They purposely cultivate high energy
• They have an aura about them
• They chase their obsession
• They see writing as thinking
I don’t want to be rich with a Lambo.
I want to:
• Hang out with my 3 year old daughter
• Take Monday off
• Walk in parks
• Have a picnic
• Read books
• Volunteer at a homeless shelter
That’s wealth.
Obsess. For f*ck sakes. You only get one life. Don’t screw it up by being normal. Go all in. Act like a psycho. Let people call you insane. Please. I beg you. Obsession is the path.
