@MichaelRedd_ I live in Melbourne and heading to the game.
We’ll have a crowd of 95k+ and expect the atmosphere will be something - we love our sport!
The Rams flying in/out does seem to miss the point though. I travel a lot long haul, there is no way they can be at peak mentally/physically
@RomanLB52@MichaelRedd_ It is a work day, but loads are people taking the day off - we love a long weekend, especially with football to kick things off!
@JetMahler@FOXFOOTY 100%. The coverage and camera work is awful. Zoomed in shots of the crowd, players on the bench, etc - meanwhile the game is happening
@FiddlesPicks Like it. Best solution I’ve heard so far.
Rewards teams that need it most.
Keep the flat odds, and solves for outlier tank years by good teams (eg Indiana this year)
@AdamDroge@TheSteinLine 100%. It’s a proven formula and you can’t blame the teams for working within the rules of the system that was created.
And no doubt when the Pacers bounce back next year also - they’ll be straight back into the playoffs, with a top pick as the reward for punting the season.
@AdamDroge@TheSteinLine I think you’re right. Tanking is definitely a symptom, rather than problem. Don’t think NBA HQ really wants to diagnose, just make more $.
I think NFL doesn’t have a tanking problem, possibly due to shorter season & larger squad - 1 drafted player doesn’t change a franchise
@AdamDroge@TheSteinLine I don’t disagree, but what is your solution?
No change, live with the tanking and the sitting out of the players the fans pay to watch?
@AdamDroge@TheSteinLine That is a fair point - definitely make it harder for bad teams. I’d argue that 80%+ of the reg season product is already pretty awful though, as well as ~40% of league tanking by early Feb. A flat draft would still allow for pick trading and unexpected outcomes, so still useful
@KevinOConnor
How can we fix the end of NBA games? The last 4 minutes of what could have been a great finish to the LA vs LA game took nearly 30 mins.
Reviews, timeouts, delays….so frustrating for fans and drains the fun.
Removing timeouts seems to be the starting point?
