Net zero by 2050 is challenging but achievable.
It is supported by the scientific community and backed by the independent Climate Change Committee as being not just necessary but feasible and cost-effective.
We are already seeing the impact of climate change. From extreme weather events to supply chain disruption and increased climate-induced migration.
With every additional increment of warming the risks of climate change increase significantly, and at an increasing rate.
Delaying action will only harm the next generation and increase both the economic and social costs of climate change.
This is no way to treat the leader of a country being pummelled by Russia. It’s quite upsetting. Trump and Vance gang up on Zelensky. No way for leaders to behave. Trying to intimidate Zelensky. Vance attacks Z then accuses him of disrespect because he answers back.
Well, this is quite the turaround

Slightly frustrating to again see climate/environment pitched as a fringe activist concern here.
This has not been true for the best part of 5 years now!
Despite everything, climate remained voters top 3/4 concerns throughout 2022.

Disinformation is a threat to climate action & to democracy. We can't beat CC if the goals & obstacles aren't clear for all to see & if the fossil lobbies try hard to mask them
First step: adopting a universal definition of climate disinformation. #COP27

How newspapers work: A story in 3 parts
1⃣New data shows UK sales of pure EVs surged by 40% in 2022, as petrol & diesels slumped by 15 & 43%
(BEVs also up 17% in September)
2⃣The Times headline:
"Electric car sales slow"
3⃣Daily Telegraph:
"Electric car sales slow"
🤡🤡🤡
+BREAKING+
RAC: "To be clear. We did not say it would cost more to run an EV than a petrol car from Oct [or] provide any figs on Jaguar’s models [or] say it cost just £50 to fill a petrol car…[We're] trying to reach journalist to find out why he wrote the story the way he did."
FACTCHECK
Electric vehicles significantly cut the cost of motoring in the UK, even under the October price cap
I estimate a current saving of £64 per tank of fuel equivalent when driving an EV (£39 in Oct)
Today's Daily Telegraph suggests the opposite?!
Let's take a look
