@jeff_gluck Prime should be the standard of coverage NASCAR, not the exception. No one is going to hit it perfect but they really check many of the boxes production wise
@jeff_gluck In my opinion and from experience the Fan Duel sportsbook and daily fantasy product teams rely heavily on the “stat providers” for their payouts. Unfortunately this means the teams may not fully understand the nuances to follow their own house rules as they payout.
@jeff_gluck Just my $0.02. I rarely say no, but in this case it felt like everything was poorly managed. Nascar was dealt a tough deck, but all of the indecision and what felt like making it up as you go just got out of hand. Then add a caution every 2-5 laps after the halfway break.
@PMBennetzen_RS Totally missed this, but imo it all depends. If you have a low interest rate Id invest a portion of the savings as "in general" you could get more than low % return on your money. However some value not having any debt in which I wouldnt argue anyone paying it off.
@Jeff_Bluck @jeff_gluck Do I think this is the right balance, of course not, but again would rather this than what practice was looking like yesterday.
@Jordan_Bianchi Keep the tire wear coming. 1000% rather have tire wear and force drivers to manage equipment compared to a rock hard tire that doesn’t wear and no passing
By no means would this resolve everything, but trying to lead by consultant really never ends well. Take a hard look in the mirror and what changed over the past let’s say 20 years and actually listen to your fans.
Driver brands/identities aren’t what they used to be (few exceptions), at track activation is minimal, cost to attend has sky rocketed, service or WiFi at track is basically 0, broadcast quality has plummeted (Prime coverage should be the expectation not the anomaly), on track quality is always questioned, playoff format of a single race determining the champion, and the list can go on.
There have been some positive things that have changed like bringing back historic tracks and testing the bounds of possibilities with the Chicago Street Course as an example, but unfortunately they don’t just don’t outweigh the negative changes.
An interesting nascar content idea.. Timeline tracking of all the decisions made since peak nascar and how we got here with all aspects of the sport. Cars, aero, horsepower, tracks, race formats, playoff formats tv deals, etc., and how do we get that mojo back 🤷♂️
@SteveLetarte Imo running the course as designed should be the ultimate goal. I’d rather not enforce track limits, but lean towards having a bigger lap time or handling penalty for going off track.
@jeff_gluck@chaseelliott All of this drama around a points format. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but at the end of the day nascar leadership makes the decisions and not everyone will agree or be happy.
Let’s just enjoy race cars going around a race track 🤷♂️

@jeff_gluck Raw lead changes in general isn’t even a great stat, let alone using this stat on an outlier track type with higher than average number of lead changes 🤷♂️
@jeff_gluck Imo more fans are undstanding what is going on and see through a race. 4 wide is a thing of beauty, but it’s manufactured and when it’s the end of the race moves are impossible. Add on the broadcast having side by side commercials within 10 to go it’s easy to see the frustration.
@RaceSheetsDFS My favorite part was “researching” by watching twitch streams trying to get a view into the lap times that were being ran. Yes that was the “edge” 🤣
@William02887871@jeff_gluck In a vacuum for this race this is my opinion taking into account many factors (on track product, tv production, officiating, etc).
At the end of the day my definition of a good race and yours may be different and that’s totally okay. We are entitled to our opinions ✌️
Six followers away from 5,000.
When I hit that threshold, I'm hooking up someone with RaceSheetsDFS DubClub access through the end of the regular season.
