@johnpavlovitz Thanks john for being the voice of complete reason in this maddening world! I don't know what we'd do w/o you to tell us how bad trump is! You are the best! We Love You!
@iamankitpande I got in trouble with HR for not promoting a incompetent fellow. His wife got promoted and apparently that was shameful for her to make more money than him.
I finally got rid of him and now he's a high level VP are some semi-tech company was was hired by his father in law.
@ChiefEngineerCE I have a similar problem. And the VP who brought in the contractors are gone, but I'm stuck with the contractors. I'm retiring in 9 months so I'm just sticking it out.
@RichardHanania I'm not anti-indian, I'm anti-#h1b. It just happens that most of the h1b's i've known arew Indian. So I'm a racist?
After watching 2k of my coworkers get displaced over 25 years, it's not racism.
@priyaakulkarni2 Out of the 2k-ish #h1b's I've known over 25 years in IT, 3 to my knowledge got preg on purpose prior to leaving India on their h1b so their kids would be americans.
@r0ck3t23 That's not what will happen.
The tech oligarchy already has seized all the wealth. They want less of us plebs. Some will work as serfs, some will be kept on genetic reservations, most will starve.
that's the plan.
My boomer stepmother told my brother and me something that genuinely caught us off guard.
She looked at me and my brother and said:
“I’m making sure there’s nothing left when I’m gone. I’ll spend every dollar or donate it before any of you inherit a thing. I earned it, and I’m going to enjoy every bit of it.”
She meant every word.
After benefiting from decades of soaring home values, secure pensions, and an economy that rewarded her generation, her priority isn’t leaving her husband’s children a stronger future—it’s making sure they get nothing.
No one is entitled to an inheritance.
But choosing to erase generational wealth when younger families are facing record housing costs, rising debt, and stagnant purchasing power says a lot about how some people view those coming after them.
It’s hard to build a future when the generation that had the biggest head start is determined to leave the starting line empty.
