@SteveHermon@bbcmtd Aww thanks for doing that Steve and wish him all the very best.
He’s a wonderful chap and deserves all the good wishes he’s been getting.
We all want road safety and flowing traffic but some variable speed limits do feel like over-management.
We just joined the M42 Northbound from the M40 & there’ve been SEVEN changes of speed limit inside the first four miles.
I’m unclear how this is helpful to anyone.
@SteveHermon@WBAFoundation I went to talk at an event last year. It’s a great initiative and means a lot to a large number of people who attend it regularly.
This is true football in the community where, outside the zillionaire salaries and transfer deals, clubs mean so much to local people.
@NathanJudah I’m not sure it’s an unpopular opinion. It’s hard to imagine a more dreary song to play before what’s supposed to be a spectacle of excitement, passion and athleticism.

Made even some of his City teammates look ordinary.
To my mind, this is one of the most beautiful autochromes ever taken: a study of artists on the banks of the Dordogne near Beaulieu in France. The light, colour & composition is a work of art in itself. It was taken in colour 98 years ago, in 1925, by Jules Gervais-Courtellemont.
@DavidLloydRADIO Absolutely David. Your remarks about his cheerful, friendly personality & lifelong passion for local radio are spot on.
It was always a pleasure to spend time with Charlie and I’m very shocked as well as saddened to hear this week’s news.
My thoughts are with Jill & his family.
@bo66ie29 I remember those days. London was such an exciting place, but still had a human scale and atmosphere.
Extra security was if course inevitable.
But for me the introduction of dozens of supersize skyscrapers is amongst many things that mean it feels very different today.
